They'll go to the Rose Bowl to get smoked by USC.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:30 PM ^
Not only are they going to get rolled, but they're going to get
December 4th, 2016 at 12:31 PM ^
But . . . but . . . this game does not count. Penn State had injuries on defense.
In fact the injuries on defense were so bad, they caused the offense to only score 3 points in non-garbage time.
When your injuries are that severe, the game just can not count. Everybody knows that.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:44 PM ^
It's amazing how healthy they were immediately before and after playing Michigan.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:55 PM ^
They had 7 defensive starters out against Michigan.
December 4th, 2016 at 1:30 PM ^
We had an injured QB during the Iowa game and lost by a point ...
with the O'Neil officiating crew no less.
December 4th, 2016 at 1:35 PM ^
Yet they scored 30 or more every game before playing Michigan and 24 or more every game after. Those defensive players really screwed their offense for one game. Ridiculous.
December 4th, 2016 at 1:37 PM ^
Was their offense hurt too?
December 4th, 2016 at 2:50 PM ^
Why must you bring up facts when it comes to penn state.
BTW, FUCK penn state and all their delusional joepa loving fans.
December 4th, 2016 at 2:28 PM ^
They were minus some starters BUT NOT 7 defensive starters. Brandon Bell, Jason Cabinda, and Grant Haley did not play versus Michigan. Evan Schwan sat out the 1st half. The biggest issue they had in that game was at LB as one of their backup LB went out with injury and another got ejected for targeting.
But on the flip side, both of their starting OTs played in that game (Paris Palmer & Andrew Nelson). Both of them are now out for the season. And they still could manage only 10 points against Michigan, all in the 2nd half when the game was no longer in doubt. The story of that game was not their defense, but the fact their offense could do nothing against Michigan especially their OL vs. Michigan's DL.

I'm not sure why I'm even watching this.

Of course this means the Saints will drop 40 on them today.

Book it.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:26 PM ^
After our "loss" to OSU. It would have been nice to have the committee recognize that we were robbed.
That said, I think we stay at 5.
December 4th, 2016 at 1:21 PM ^
What I don't understand is the notion that two pretty much "equal" teams play each other and, regardless of controversies, one loses in double overtime and the losing team is all of a sudden four spots worse than the winner.
If the goal of the committee is to take the four "best" teams, which I'm not saying should be the only judgment but am purely going along with that style of thinking, then by putting two or three teams ahead of Michigan you are basically saying that those teams would have still lost to OSU but maybe would have taken it to three or four overtimes?
I understand it's not that simple, but I just don't get how people could be talking about how OSU is such a "lock" and definitely the second best team in the country but Michigan is somehow on a different tier? This is the exact same situation that allowed for an LSU/Alabama rematch in the national championship game years back. What's the difference here? That's what I'm trying to understand with all these talking heads.
There's just way too much controversy this year.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:26 PM ^
Dude... I hate this talk about Penn State.

December 4th, 2016 at 12:28 PM ^
This show goes for 4 hours? WTH??? I've got things to do, can't sit here all day! Screw it - you guys have fun. I'm out to get things done around the house/yard.
This Chris Fallica guy is a dumbass - wth is he? He's talking about PSU stretch run. They beat an above average Wisconsin team that has no offense, and who else since a lucky (and the world agrees) win over OSU. Honestly, PSU defense made Wisconsin's horrid offense look good. Sick...
December 4th, 2016 at 12:29 PM ^
if u put in Washington in my opinion u have to put in penn st. they beat osu and won the B1G. Only reason Washington gets in is because they won their conference, so did penn st.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:32 PM ^
Washington has 1 loss, PSU has 2. And one of those PSU losses was by 39 points. That's why Washington is in over PSU.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:38 PM ^
Reread what he wrote. He didn't say he'd put PSU in over Washington, he said IF Washington, then also PSU. Implying he'd drop OSU. I agree with him.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:53 PM ^
Why? PSU has two losses. OSU has one. There hasn't been a two loss team in the CFP, and there won't be until that's all the committee has to choose from. It's the right choice, imo.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:57 PM ^
Why PSU instead of OSU? Because they beat them.
December 4th, 2016 at 1:00 PM ^
But they still lost twice.
December 4th, 2016 at 1:19 PM ^
I realize that. I place a high value on the head to head matchup. In addition, I credit the refs with the win on 11/26 so I consider OSU to be a 2 loss team.
December 4th, 2016 at 1:57 PM ^
That's a lot of caveats but I guess if you're on the committee, it's fine

Penn St Blows
Get off the biggest win against OSU
if we are out ,OSU should be out . Conf Champion blah blah
December 4th, 2016 at 12:29 PM ^
All these "experts" on here talking about penn states early wins, but then someone mentions that they lost by 40 to Michigan, and then they say they're a different team now. What???? How can you ignore that loss.
December 4th, 2016 at 12:31 PM ^
Yeah it's bull shit. Just another way to credit OSU.

Not surprised at all with these rankings, except for moving Clemson over OSU. That, I don't get. I also don't get PSU over UM, but understand why they did it. 39 points, or not, doesn't matter... PSU will get rolled by USC. ROLLED!
December 4th, 2016 at 12:52 PM ^
but UW rolling Colorado makes our win over them less convincing
December 4th, 2016 at 12:34 PM ^
Completely garbage that PSU is ahead of Michigan. They beat Wisconsin just like everyone else so it's not that impressive and we crushed them. Michigan should have stayed at 5
December 4th, 2016 at 12:34 PM ^
Cant believe all the love for Penn State. Its ok they will get demolished in the Rose Bowl
December 4th, 2016 at 12:36 PM ^
So our total destruction of Penn State, didn't happen... or didn't matter... what exactly is the committee saying here?
Not that it matters. If you're not top four, who cares; it's just the principle.
