That's going to be really awkward when he isn't selected in the first round and has to come back the next day.

It'll be even more awkward if he isn't selected by the end of the third round and has to come back on Saturday. I hope he brings 3 sets of dress clothes.

The NFL isn't reading the wisdom of Michigan fans here. It's a wonder the NFL makes it without consulting Michigan message board guy.

I love that it's so painfully obvious why they're doing it...to stretch the drama out until (hopefully) the 3rd round - which is now 'day 2'.

I love even more that Tebow is an idiot and think's he'll 'prove them wrong' and be taken really early.

But the question remains...where does he put the bible verse on his suit? Or does he wear eyeblack to NYC? Seriously though, $5 on an american flag pin.

Tebow is not an idiot, that is not even a legitimate opinion to hold. It's legitimate to not like a guy, but the rest of your animosity makes no sense. ESPN invites those guys to the draft, so your inference that he is wanting to "prove them wrong" is itself wrongheaded. Where is your criticism of eyeblack numbers or words on oh, every other football player?

The media firestorm around Tebow that many dislike is entirely a product of the media, not Tebow. Every interview he's ever had on TV was requested by the media. IMO people that criticize a guy that has really done nothing to be critical of just seem small.

But does it also mean that Tebow will choose to even attend? Joe Thomas was also invited, but decided to go fishing on Lake Michigan instead.

Now that the draft is on Thursday night, and I think only the first two rounds, I gotta think Tebow won't show unless hes guaranteed to be taken on Thursday.

I think they invited Colt McCoy too, and he ain't going in the first round either. Seems like they want some famous guys around for Day 2 (the second and third rounds, where both Tebow and McCoy will probably go)

While based on pure talent and NFL-readiness Tebow probably wouldn't be taken until the second or even third days, I've also heard that teams like Jacksonville and other teams in the SEC footprint might take a flyer on his in the late first/early second rounds just because of the increased attention and positive press it would derive from the fanbases. Especially in the case of Jacksonville, drafting Tebow would create more gate and merchandise revenue than virtually anyone else, and I'd be willing to "waste" a draft pick on him and at least get a marketing commodity.

McCoy, on the other hand, may be hanging out in the greenroom for a bit.

Yeah, this is ESPN's fault, not the NFL's. ESPN is definitely trying to add his name to draw in more casual fans. I don't watch Sportscenter regularly, but I saw about ten minutes the other day. Tebow and "just is a FOOTBALL PLAYER" went together about five times, right before a "March Madness NFL offseason roster bracketology" segment. Sportscenter blows.

Its good television - it may be wrong, but I enjoyed the camera always panning to Quinn as he sat there slipping through the draft. I always like seeing theguys at home with family and friends. Who was the Wisconsin guy that was fishing with his dad when he was picked early in the first round?

Colt McCoy as a top-100 draft pick makes sense. He'll be a solid backup at the VERY least. In two years, I could see McCoy being a serviceable player.

Tim Tebow makes sense as a fifth round pick. Maybe. I don't care if he can take a snap from center. I don't care about where he holds the ball. I don't really even care about the slow delivery. He's not an ACCURATE quarterback. All of the other stuff is probably fixable with about three years of round-the-clock coaching (personally, I'd rather just draft a real QB). But the accuracy thing...it doesn't usually just show up. It's like an NBA squad drafting a 6-7 center and hoping he'll get taller.

Like, on day two? Or spends Thursday just watching movies on his iPhone, headphones on, oblivious to the rest of the green room? Maybe holds a Bible study with the Jets fans up in the stands?

ESPN used to have the draft down--an orgy of all afternoon draft coverage starting at noon that allowed for an entire unproductive spring Sunday. Then they had to start it at 4 so it could hit prime time. Now this idiotic, stupid 3 day festival that has zero point, zero rational, all to try to get even higher ratings. I really hate it.
