He's starting!!!
November 26th, 2016 at 10:48 AM ^
He was out on the field in pre-game last week, too.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:15 AM ^
Such a downer, bro.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:22 AM ^
Yeah, but today Speight was also running the Michigan drill against Mo Hurst and Chris Wormley, so that has to be a good sign.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:22 AM ^
I think he plays, but it means nothing.
Throwing and taking a hit are 2 different things.
That said, he practiced all week...you don't take reps away from JO'K if you're not going to play Speight, that's fricking stupid. He doesn't need practice reps.
He's playing and that's the tell...not him warming up.
Think about it...if he wasn't playing, why wouldn't you give those reps to Morris? You'd absolutely get him ready.
He's playing and practice told us all week.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:23 AM ^
But last week he was mainly just standing around. He made a few token passes, but that was it. Sounds like he's doing much more than that this week. But, we'll see.
November 26th, 2016 at 10:48 AM ^
I just saw it also. While I'm hopeful, it appeared to me that he was trying very hard not to move his left arm. I doubt he starts and/or plays.

He didn't throw a single pass left handed.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:06 AM ^
I thought the same thing. He was.catching the return pass one handed.

"Speight throwing 50 yard spirals. Just hit the field goal bottom post from the 35 which I think is his goal." --- Patrick Barron on twitter.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:07 AM ^
but I'm going to be very interested to see how he looks after he takes his first shit. Especially a shot to the left shoulder.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:09 AM ^
I agree brotha. He's a tough son of a bitch but I can't imagine that type of pain. Let's pray he stays upright.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:09 AM ^
That must be some pretty serious wiping
November 26th, 2016 at 11:51 AM ^
Best typo I've ever typo'd

I'm waiting until after The Game to take my first shit. Watching with clenched buttocks.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:30 AM ^
If you finished school in '89, you must be pushing 50. Jasper (another older guy) kindly suggests completing the evacuation process *before* the game.
November 26th, 2016 at 12:05 PM ^
One step ahead of you there.

Hoooot hot hot hot hot take

hope that shit is right on the O at midfield.

FWIW, and I want to respect the paywall thing, but Sam posted on Scout that he got some insider info that "Speight looked great yesterday!" and then he followed it up by "If they can keep Speight clean they will win." (Paraphrasing)
Obviously a big 'IF' just relaying the info
November 26th, 2016 at 10:54 AM ^
I think the rule is you can paraphrase paywalled stuff just not copy and paste.
Thanks for info.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:38 AM ^
Sam just tweeted that his 'gut' tells him Speight is starting.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:04 AM ^
I think we got this !!!
November 26th, 2016 at 11:10 AM ^
Now that's a bold statement. I'd love to see it today, but we haven't won down there in over 15 years. Gonna need Speight to be there and be not-Iowa Speight
November 26th, 2016 at 10:59 AM ^
Speight - pain is temporary, the results of this game will be eternal. Finish it!
November 26th, 2016 at 10:51 AM ^
decent? what the hell does that mean?
November 26th, 2016 at 10:59 AM ^
You know when eucalyptus leaves aren't crispy fresh, kinda gettin old and frumpy, but not bug-ridden either, still edible? Decent.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:12 AM ^
Did you find the bottom of your whisky bottle already preparing for today's game?
November 26th, 2016 at 10:52 AM ^
He's starting. His arm will have to be torn off and that still might not keep him off the field.
November 26th, 2016 at 10:54 AM ^
Agreed. He might be banged up, but he's not missing this game. It's a Dread Pirate Roberts move.

Like Carl Weathers in Predator.
November 26th, 2016 at 10:53 AM ^
Offensive line needs to play the game of their lives. If Speight plays, I will cringe anytime he takes a hit. Keep him upright and we will beat these guys!
November 26th, 2016 at 10:58 AM ^
Doesn't matter how well the o-line plays. OSU will hit him late and take a 15-yard penalty to knock him out. Why wouldn't they? If I can put my opponent at a SEVERE disadvantage at the cost of one , maybe two 15 yard penalties...easy. Hit him hard and hit him late if you have to.

Could definitely happen. I don't put anything past Urban Meyer. If they are going to give us free 15 yards though at potentially critical moments, we have to capitalize off it, even if JOK takes over. Run game will be huge!
November 26th, 2016 at 11:14 AM ^
The defensive playbook?
Sounds about right for them.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:15 AM ^
Teams always try to hit the QB (not late) or at least get a shove in to shake him up. If i"m on OSU, I'm just trying to make sure my hits are to his shoulder or my shoves are to his shoulder. Just let the pain throw him off (or even take him out). Not 15 yard penalties required
November 26th, 2016 at 10:54 AM ^
based on what i just saw on espn, i'm not hopeful that he plays. grimmaced on the follow through and didn't raise his left arm to catch the flip from his catcher. now, if these reports are from folks at the game... yippie!
November 26th, 2016 at 10:59 AM ^
what they feed you on ESPN. There was a day they were objective, but that was a day from long ago.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:08 AM ^
There was a time when they covered the America's Cup and bowling too, which was during the time when they were reasonably objective about most things sports. Maybe they need to return to their roots....maybe that's the problem.
November 26th, 2016 at 11:10 AM ^
They also covered Aussie rules Football. I miss that.

He was throwing last week, too. Worth watching his non-throwing arm, he basically had it curled up into his chest every time he dropped back.
November 26th, 2016 at 10:57 AM ^
and lookin like a boss doing it
