OT - Black Friday deals

Submitted by 615Wolverine on
Good morning friends, as we are all anxiously waiting for The Game, t-minus 25 hours until kickoff, I wanted to know if anyone went shopping on this crazy day. What are the best deals going on today ? What good deals did you miss out on ? Go blue

Cyber Monday is where it's at. Of course, lots of places have the same sale for the whole week. I need rugs and some furniture for the new apartment, but not much falls under the black friday stuff due to custom cuts.

Not going anywhere today. I don't feel like fighting a crowd just to get suplexed by a mom over a Keurig.

Seconded.

I don't think I've actually set foot in a store during the holiday season - save for emergency supplies like this morning - in about ten years or so. I've always been a huge proponent of simply doing the shopping online and avoiding lines and crowds. My mother-in-law always calls to ask if we want to go shopping every Black Friday, and we always decline.

Personally I agree with the saying Happy Wife Happy Life. My wife is a shop till you drop type. I would say she turned pro about 5 years ago and I have seen her suplex a store manager (I feel bad for not warning him) for trying to take a stance on pricing different than hers. This time of year she starts changing, starting about six weeks ago she starts running and weight lifting. She absolutely loves this time of year and Black Friday is like her superbowl of shopping. She does come home with some amazing deals where I feed the beast and tell her she really has out-done herself this year every year.

I gladly trade off her shopping time with my fall Saturdays and she doesn't mind me not going with her and she loves going with me to the games as long as it doesn't get in the way of her shopping and basically enjoying the benefits of Meeechigan Football.

Had to pull the trigger on an Xbox One S at dell.com. Yes, Dell still exists. Got the 500gb Battlefield 1 edition with Gears of War 4 and a free wireless controller for $250. Time to get my nerd on.

I wasnt going anywhere..Was just going to stay home and watch fb and basketball...BUT Best Buy had a pretty sweet deal on a 55inch TV...So I got up really early, went there ..very close by...bought and came home and set it up..I have 3 boys and now they all have their own room and Flat Screens..I put the new one in the Living room and took that into one of the boys room..

After I finished everything I stood there and said WTF?  we now have 5 Big Flat screens...How did this happen?? We had one TV growing up and that was that...

YIKES!

Made a quick run into Best Buy, just happened to be driving by. Jumped out real quick ran in to see what they had left. Lots of TVs left even at 4pm this afternoon, apparently no one is buying in my area, grabbed a couple 24" lg leds for the kids rooms for $80 a piece.

It is noon and I am still in my pajamas drinking coffee. Enjoying the fact that I will not walk into a store today. We are slowly cleaning and preparing for a feast tomorrow. Go Blue!

I had to go to Arborland today for something unrelated and it actually seemed like a normal day. I didn't go anywhere near Briarwood, but if I didn't already know it's Black Friday I wouldn't have been able to tell.

spent hours last night researching a phone deal... ended up not pulling the trigger. Now I'm exhausted today, and must go fulfil fatherly duty cutting down this year's Christmas tree.. but kids love it so totally worth it!
