Unchanged top 4...followed by:

5. Washington

6. Wisconsin

------------------

7 Penn St.

8 Oklahoma

9 Colorado

10 Okie St.

11 Lousiville

12 USC

13 Aubrun

14 Florida St.

15 Florida

Although I sure wouldn't want to play USC I'm glad to see the committee didn't cave and bring them too high up.  They're still punishing them for their entire resume and not rewarding that the've been playing great for 6 weeks.

Random thought and obviously lets just win this weekend but is it possible for us to lose and make the playoff?  I think we need msu to beat psu this weekend and in that case osu wins the big ten outright.  So bama 1, osu 2 are in.  Michigan is a 2 loss team with 3 wins in at least the top 15.  Could we get in over a 3 loss usc pac 12 champ? Over colorado? Washington st?  In over a 2 loss oklahoma or no?  I think it could be interesting but it would be sick to have to root for msu right after losing to osu so hopefully this doesn't come up.

Honestly I think it IS possible.  Extremely unlikely but as noted, they aren't high on USC so I'm not sure they'd shoot them up to the top 4 by season's end.  We'd need a Colorado in the Pac-12 ship against Wazzu (who beast Washington Friday)...Bama beating the hell out of Florida...Penn. St beating Wisconsin and hoping they wouldn't jump PSU over us...and Okie St. squeaking by Oklahoma in 2 weeks and also hoping they wouldn't jump us.

I don't think so either.  Comparing resumes...

We'd have beaten Colorado who'd likely still be top 15, Wisconsin still probably top 15, Penn Penn St. as a top 5.  Meh loss to Iowa and good loss to Ohio St.

They'd have a top 5 win over Ohio St., top 15 over Wisconsin...but also beat common opponent Iowa and aforementioned Ohio St.  Meh loss to Pitt.  Good loss to us.

But damn we'd have damn similar resumes.

If we lose Saturday, we will probably go to the Orange Bowl, which will be our worse case scenario, but it could be worse. It would depend on who won the B1G title game, along with several other results. I'm guessing 4 B1G teams are going to NY6 bowls/playoffs. OSU to playoffs, winner between PSU/Wisconsin to Rose, loser to the Cotton.

Or we could just win and screw one or two teams over completely. Wouldn't break my heart :)

I think there is a case to be made that USC is underrated. I wouldn't put them in the top 4, but I would say they are a top 10 team. They have 2 top 10 wins right now (Washington and Colorado). Ohio State and Michigan are the only other teams with at least 2 top 10 wins. If USC wins the Pac 12 title, they would finish with 3 top 10-15 wins, only the winner of OSU-Michigan can match or exceed that. They have three losses but one was to #1 Alabama (granted by 46 points). The other two are respectable losses to top 25-30 teams (Utah and Stanford). Ultimately, the blowout loss to Alabama will be too much to overcome since that would be the matchup in the playoff and there is zero desire to see that rematch nor should USC be given another shot at Alabama after the results of the first game.

Honestly, hard to see how the B1G emerges from this without two teams in the playoff if Washington loses to either Wazzou or USC/Colorado in the P12CG. OU would have to jump 6 teams to make it.

We control our own destiny but HAVE to win out to make it. If we lose in The Game, OSU and the B1G champ will make it. If we lose the B1GCG, PSU and Wisconsin would make it. If we win out, we make it with PSU.

Nah psu doesn't make it without a conference champiosnhip, they get leapt by oklahoma or oklahoma st, would probably get left out if Colorado is the one to win the pac 12, especially if its over washington, hell I think they'd take osu as the second big ten team in over psu if psu doesn't win.

I also have a weird feeling psu loses to msu this week.  I don't know why, msu isn't good, isn't playing at home and tends to have let downs after big games but it wouldn't shock me.

Shout out to Navy for coming in at #25 in the new CFP rankings!

Also, heads up on NW vs ND basketball. ND winning 58-56 with under 8 minutes left. NW looking like a potential bubble team! It'd be great to see them make the NCAAT this year!

Anybody else catch the chair of the cfp committee start talking about the top five and say Ohio state has ya know 3 wins over top 25 teams and then Michigan right behind them with three wins over top (pause to catch himself) really good teams (then realizes he has to say it) top 10 teams.

It's like he knew he was just making the case to everybody that Michigan should be ranked higher than OSU but didn't want to say it.

IUPUI at Marquette is on, too. I assume we want Marquette to look really good against them, right, since they are much more likely to be a quality opponent?

Tried Kirkland Vodka for the first time. It's surprisingly damn good. Gonna watch MLS if they can figure out how big a penalty box is suppose to be....... Damn Canadians!
