That was my senior year, too. I went to the game in Columbus, and then to the Rose Bowl. Even though we lost to Arizona State, that was a great year of football.

Although, I did not go to Columbus, we road tripped to South Bend the beginning of the season and then out to the Rose Bowl.

Actually caught the Grateful Dead shows up in Oakland leading up to New Years and then drove down Highway 1 to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl.  A good time and great football.

I think Ohio fan gave the Wikipedia The Game page an Ohio slant in the 10 year war and in the end where is says Ohio is ahead in the rivalry for conference games (which is made up).

WD, I am sure this game was played before you were born.   As an 11 year old at that time, I remember the exact chair I was sitting in watching this game.  It was the first time I remember being super excited over a Michigan victory.

After experencing the Rob Houghlin Iowa FG the year before as a 10 year old and being devestated.  I was preparing myself for Matthew Frantz to make that FG at the end.  Fortunately, he missed and the good guys won.  I remember gettting 4 or 5 Rose Bowl t-shirts for Christmas that year.

I was at that game.  My seat was at field level right near the Michigan band on temporary bleachers set up on the running track at the time.

Ohio State dominated the first half scoring 2 TDs to our 2 FGs.  But then in the second half Jamie Morris ran wild and we pulled ahead.  Harbaugh made the guarantee, but Jamie Morris was the one that backed it up.

Ohio State was driving to go ahead at the end of the game, but we stopped them on a third and medium out pass, just short of the 1st down.  They sent out Matt Frantz to try the game winning field goal.

Since my seat was right at ground level, I just walked right out on to the field to watch the kick from behind the play.  All eyes were on the kick attempt, nobody was paying any attention to me.

When he missed, I absolutely exploded and started to run up the field.  Then I caught myself and quickly ran back to my seat.  I was afraid that there might be some kind of "fan interference" penalty for being on the field that I didn't know about that would nullify the miss.  I wasn't taking any chances.

When the game was fully over, I ran out on to the middle of the field and danced on the weird block O that also made a "10" as in Big 10.

After the game we walked around the campus.  Before the game, I was careful to keep my coat zipped over my Michigan sweatshirt.  But after the game, I didn't give a damn.

We were walking near some student housing when I heard a loud "Fuck Michigan!" and looked up just in time to see an entire beer keg come flying at me from a second floor window.

One of my best Michigan memories ever.

I was there.  It was a glorious day.  Beautiful weather, about 60 and sunny.

That morning we parked the car on top of a parking garage, and my idiot friend had a bullhorn and was shouting anti-Buckeye things with this bullhorn across campus.  People were very pissed.  We narrowly got out of that situation alive.

We watched the game from the field.  Our seats were in Block O which was the students section.  There were no barriers, so we went down on the field and watched the game about 1 foot from the end zone pylon.  I doubt that one could do that these days.

I also watched the 92 ND game which ended in a tie, on the field in South Bend.

Very memorable times for a kid who loved Michigan and his friends.

Hilarious.  I doubt you could do that today without getting hurt.
