Former M receiver Marcus Knight named Interim HC at NMU
Pretty well says it all.
Marcus Knight has been coaching up at Northern Michigan as the receivers coach/passing game coordinator for a couple of years after a few years playing in the NFL. Apparently the head coach was let go and Marcus and the run game coordinator were named interim co-head coach.

Congrats to Marcus. Hopefully that HC title will stick for him somewhere in the future.

NMU has this inexplicable ability to produce high-level coaches.

I guess so; he did coach in the NFL with some (non-Lions) success.
Other obvious example is Tom Izzo.

Lloyd Carr, Tom Izzo, Steve Mariucci and Jerry Glanville all played there.

... Knight is coaching there. I don't understand your logic. I thought this was some kind of "Cradle of Coaches" arguement.

Former NMU coach had many stops in the pros, including a stint as a head coach in the USFL.

Congrats, Marcus!
I had no idea he was roaming the sidelines at the Yooper Dome.

He was friends with my girlfriend's roomate. I didn't hang out with him, but talked with him enough to know that he was a really good guy. If memory serves he was one of like 12 kids, and always seemed to be a really respectful and character guy. I always rooted for him and wish him the best of luck in the coaching world.

I remember Bill Curry singing his praises when he was a player. I also remember a FOF story about Marcus being a super nice guy.
As a side note, I expect any feature stories to mention that he was a Michigan football letterwinner from the state of Alabama.

Knight was a very good WR at Michigan. Hands like flypaper.

Marcus Knight was one of those players who I've wondered for a while what he was up to. Good to see him doing well and earning this opportunity.
