Former M receiver Marcus Knight named Interim HC at NMU

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on

Pretty well says it all.

Marcus Knight has been coaching up at Northern Michigan as the receivers coach/passing game coordinator for a couple of years after a few years playing in the NFL. Apparently the head coach was let go and Marcus and the run game coordinator were named interim co-head coach.

Congrats to Marcus. Hopefully that HC title will stick for him somewhere in the future.

He was friends with my girlfriend's roomate.  I didn't hang out with him, but talked with him enough to know that he was a really good guy.  If memory serves he was one of like 12 kids, and always seemed to be a really respectful and character guy.  I always rooted for him and wish him the best of luck in the coaching world.

I remember Bill Curry singing his praises when he was a player.  I also remember a FOF story about Marcus being a super nice guy.

As a side note, I expect any feature stories to mention that he was a Michigan football letterwinner from the state of Alabama.
