Other Games of Import

Submitted by BornInAA on

Ok – another top team went down for the count last night.

What other upset or nail-biter predictions have you?

Chattanooga @ (1) Alabama

No – but this is the first time I have ever typed “Chattanooga”

(2) OSU @ MSU

Maybe - Lansing is supposed to get even crappier weather than Ann Arbor!

(4) Clemson @ Wake Forest

         No

(7) WISC @ Purdue

        NO

(8) PSU @ Rutgers

        Double NO

(9) Oklahoma @ (14) WVU

Yes – I like West Virginia at home here.

(22) WSU @ (10) Colorado

No – I think Colorado wins on their D which is 11th ranked vs 50th ranked WSU.

(11) OKST @ TCU

         Tossup?

Oregon @ (12) Utah

          No

(13) USC @ UCLA

          No

(23) Florida @ (16) LSU

Yes – Florida has a great rush defense and LSU can’t pass

(24) Stanford @ CAL

No – CAL has a horrid defense

Neither snark nor grammar cop. But isn't 'import' following 'of' a noun?

The noun 'import' does not mean important/importance.

No dog in this fight, just feeling the inquiry mindset.

A transitive verb has two characteristics. First, it is an action verb, expressing a doable activity like kickwantpaintwriteeatclean, etc. Second, it must have a direct object, something or someone who receives the action of the verb.

edit: just saw Mexwolves' post below regarding 'matters of great import' --- that seems to use import as a noun

Watch out for OSU - MSU in the rain.

They lost last year because they didn't have Zeke in the rain . . . and they won't have him this year either.

I thought last weeks Iowa game would be a laugher too.  You never know man.  If msu does lose tomorrow, I think they still might suck it up one last time and give Penn St. a game next week.  I really hope OSU rolls them up tomorrow - I think that will benefit us for next week with osu coming into the Game with 3 straight blowouts.  I think that will keep them less focused on the task kind of like how we played last week.

Well Wake has won at Duke, at Indiana, beat Virginia, and pants'd Syracuse, so they at least have a pulse at home against Clemson.

I'm picking LSU and TCU at home

Hoping lil bro at least messes up the buckeyes hair a little, maybe pokes them in the eye, or keeps them from scoring 30.

is bound to have some tricks up his sleeve.  Likely same gameplan as v us, running, running to keep the ball away from OSU.  IF...they can gain some traction and keep the game close a flukey play could make this break bad for OSU.  Sparty would love to shovel some mud out of their season by slaying the mighty buckeye from its lofty tree.

I do have the feeling USC will have some letdown after last week's victory.  I can't recall if the chosen rosen is still playing or injured, and  just spreading smack talk.

OSU's offense goes into turtle mode whenever there is a light breeze. I'd expect that game to be close but OSU will do enough to win.

Can't discount the fact that the bad version of Colorado could show up and get waxed by a solid WSU team. No matter how good the defense, if the offense turns it over 5 times, they're going to lose.
