every time, but Bo could have been a heck of a politician or a preacher if that were his passion. His speeches to his team are really just chilling. Powerful and motivating, sure, but just chilling.

The 1989 Notre Dame game when Rocket Ismail took two kickoff returns to the house. Bo wanted to squib on the second one but the assistant coaches told him not to because the team could stop him. Of course, Bo was right.
The best part was after the game he took the blame for it and said, "Why did I take the blame? Because I deserved it, that's why!"

Look who Coach has his arm around while making his speach after winning the Jug at the 2:07 mark... Awesome that our football tradition has such devotion and stewardship across the generations (and that we have the video footage to prove it).

As fiery as Bo was, he could also be revealing and gracious like in this 1986 TV interview with Bill Bonds (who as you can guess from my avatar had the right allegiances).

In that first pep talk, Bo sounds a lot like Larry David doing George Steinbrenner.

When I was at Michigan I was a young college student, of course, and while I always appreciated the success of Michigan, in the back of my mind I always thought "Who would want to play for that guy? He's always screaming and yelling and stomping around. i would not want to play for him."
It was only as I got older (and was able to see more glimpses of the real Bo like in this post), that I began to see why he inspired so much loyalty and devotion in his players.
He was one of a kind. He transcended a mere game.
