Getting him back on campus is big news, and hopefully signals his interest level.

The visit isn't going to be this weekend. Originally it was, but he has quarterfinals now and can't make it. So now it'll be sometime in December.

CAAAAAAMMMMMM AKERS IS THE PLACE TO BE!
November 16th, 2016 at 7:45 PM ^
Akers is going to be the better back at the college level and it's not even close.

I agree to a certain extent. I think Akers would be better for our system, but I'd be elated with either RB.
Getting Akers may be more important though, because we could keep him away from OSU and he honestly reminds me of some of their recent, great backs. Landing him would be a win-win.

I agree that getting Akers would keep him away from OSU, which would be good. But he's always been a longshot.
I don't get the "system" thing, though. Michigan's "system" currently incorporates backs of all shapes and sizes, and they're all performing well. Isaac is 6'3", 230 lbs. and solid all-around, Smith is 6'0", 230 and more power than speed, Evans is 5'11", 185 and quick with very little power, and Higdon is 5'10", 195 with quickness and a little power.
There are various types of backs who can succeed at Michigan, and I think both Akers and Harris fit what we want.

I guess I just look at it that Coach Harbaugh seems to prefer someone in the Smith mold, but I guess that is a product of this pass-pro skills. I think (but could be wrong) that if he had a workhorse-type back that could still break the big play then he might prefer that. Again, I'd be happy with either, but my preference would be Akers if given the choice.

It's not shaping up to be a great day to visit based on the weather. 70 on Friday and 40 on Saturday. I guess it gives him an idea of what to expect while he is going here for 3-4 years.

A meteorologist friend told me (8 years ago) that Michigan/Ontario/Western NY would have the climate of Northern Virginia in 2030. I don't know what 2040 will be like, but I'm thinking I can retire up north and don't have to worry about the whole snow bird thing. Sucks for my kids, but works for me.

0.5 degree increase in average global temperature can do.
November 16th, 2016 at 10:07 PM ^
We are actually now over 1.0 degree C higher than pre-industrial times. It was 80 degrees in Denver today which is an all-time November heat record.

And am counting on it, I was JUST thinking that yesterday. Now... to go for a walk on a beautiful night.
