Not so fast my friends. Sparty is down by 7 with over 10 minutes left in the 4th.

Nope, I'm wrong - the ESPN app info is not correct.

Yeah for some reason ESPN paused the game after a 1st down incompletion. I thought maybe it was rain delayed or something. Nope.
November 5th, 2016 at 7:59 PM ^
Is anyone else plagued by the terrible app called ESPNGo? I have not had a single half play without pausing, skipping, poorly synced audio, etc. BTN streams great, NBCSports and FoxSportsGo (!!!) are all fine. ESPN has one flipping job and they fail miserably. It timed out during the play that will not be named from last season so I had to rely on the tsunami of shit-talk pouring in from Staee acquaintances via text. It sucks so bad.

On both of my browsers. (New computer.) Yes, MS Edge is weird and quirky and unreliable. But it stops in the same place when I try it on another browser. Am I alone in that?
November 5th, 2016 at 11:17 PM ^
We sell results, not hope!
Who is going to commit to MSU if they have a Michigan offer? One who is afraid to compete for playing time.
November 6th, 2016 at 8:24 AM ^
Well, now they have no results and no hope. Not sure what they'll sell now. Couches as home heating alternatives? Get out of class free passes? Tours of the Bullough cloning lab?

Over on their board they are calling for PJ Fleck to replace Dantonio. I don't see it happening this year but if the implosion continues next year, it may be an option. Dantonio isn't going to last forever and PJ Fleck is a Midwestern treasure.
November 5th, 2016 at 5:47 PM ^
Are they really that dumb? Dantonio is the best thing that's happened to them. One bad year doesn't undo that.

Seriously, are you really asking if they are that dumb?
November 6th, 2016 at 7:49 AM ^
they have a winless BIG season, it actually could be in the conversation. This has been a pretty shocking fall. All is not well within that program right now.
November 5th, 2016 at 7:29 PM ^
Fleck is doing a great job at WMU, but I'd be surprised if he had that level of success at Power Five school. He might do best (a la Brady Hoke, though the comparison isn't tight) at a place that doesn't have high expectations for football.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:46 PM ^
Program is finished...back to peaking at 8-4 seasons.
Bye bye
November 5th, 2016 at 3:50 PM ^
Well, we had been told that pride comes before the fall, and they had been showing a LOT of boast and pride the last few years. But who knew that pride came before the fall off a cliff, ending in a bloody, awful, gory football death?
November 5th, 2016 at 6:23 PM ^
after all, their Big Ten commercial is "Spartam Pride". Fuck them. Classless jerks who couldn't handle it at the top.
November 5th, 2016 at 7:16 PM ^
didn't our "fall" start with a nice 3-9 season? I know, I know. . .
November 5th, 2016 at 8:37 PM ^
really listening to him. They all thought he was speaking of Michigan and all this time he was predicting what would happen 9 years later to his own team. I mean, who prophesizes to the enemy?
November 5th, 2016 at 7:39 PM ^
They're going to have 4 losses every year in the B1G East in the near future.

who gives a fuck! seriously the obsession this board has with msu is pathetic

Spartyfreude is the best.
Fuck MSU. They've earned this.
November 5th, 2016 at 11:21 PM ^
It does feel odd at times to make a thread every time a team who is now 2-7 loses... it feels good, but when you take away the fact that it's Sparty, it's a bit strange.

How can you not care? It's hilarious!!

I'll give you some credit here but recruits like A. Thomas, and D Irving-Bey take note of this which does directly affect M.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:54 PM ^
If either of those guys go to MSU, they were going there anyway. A meaningless November game in Champaign doesn't move the needle.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:59 PM ^
I think a 2-10 or 3-9 season with the team infighting and quitting does play a role. These kids want to play for a winner. If it is close in their eyes between MSU and M, this season and the future prospects will affect things IMO.
November 5th, 2016 at 4:20 PM ^
You think the difference between 3-9 or 4-8 will change a kid's mind? A shit season is a shit season.

November 5th, 2016 at 4:33 PM ^
This season has to be getting into the heads of some of the players. Many of them must have been on top of the world signing a NLI as a lower rated recruit heading to a team that has been at the top of the BIG and recently in the CFP. They now have to be questioning all of that. The MSU battleship made of wood is rotten, termite infested and taking on water.
November 5th, 2016 at 3:56 PM ^
My guess is you don't have to interact with as many Sparties as a lot of us do. They have been really, really insufferable these last 8 years. This ALMOST makes it seem like none of that ever happened. UM cruising, looking like a powerhouse for a decade-plus to come. And MSU looking like they are seriously considering quitting for the year and "seeing how things go" before scheduling next year. Mwahahaha...
November 5th, 2016 at 3:56 PM ^
is a smug piece of crap that has been talking shit about our demise for the past 8 years. They are now regressing to their historical mediocrity - this shit season will set them back in recruiting, etc. I'm enjoying it because they deserve to suck.
November 5th, 2016 at 4:19 PM ^
Correction. They are not regressing to their historical mediocrity, they are plummeting towards Rutgers levels of low and perhaps beyond.
November 5th, 2016 at 4:54 PM ^
a quick check indicates that MSU has never been 0-6 in conference.
November 5th, 2016 at 5:31 PM ^
I Almost feel bad- if they weren't Michigan State I might have some sympathy
November 5th, 2016 at 6:20 PM ^
Feel bad? FEEL BAD??? Unless you're only 4 years old, you remember 35-11 at MSU a few years back. You remember "60 minutes of unnecessary roughness." You remember Hoke APOLOGIZING. I would feel bad if their team got in a fiery bus crash. I do NOT feel bad their team sucks at a whole new level of suckiness. Not one bit...
November 5th, 2016 at 7:18 PM ^

I'm giving it a pass this year. There's too much repressed rage and angst in our fanbase built up over the past decade. We need the release of schadenfreude and it makes our current success taste even more ambrosial.
Now, if this is still happening when we're yearly CFP contenders and MSU is regularly competing in lower tier bowls? Then maybe it's time to move on.
