Brewing an imperial stout right now. But after it's done I'm cracking open a bottle of last year's imperial, and maybe just some bourbon after that.

Founders Redankulous. Delicious
November 4th, 2016 at 8:45 PM ^
I'm excited to try it. Still, I have a hard time imagining it replaces Red's Rye as my all time fav.

Red Rye is my fave, too, bruh.

Try it now if you find it, best enjoyed young and it was brewed a while ago. You can still get Red's Rye on draft.

isn't Friday Night and drinking thread redundant?
November 4th, 2016 at 9:04 PM ^
Technically speaking, it is. We retain the Friday Night Drinking Thread tradition in the full realization that in fact most threads created much after 7 PM or so on Friday become de facto drinking threads in their own right. Such is life on MGoBlog. It's especially prevalent in the OT season when we have threads that, for example, combine booze and a spirited discussion about favorite Sidney Lumet films.

All this beer talk reminds me of a story I hear earlier this week, about a Cubs' fan who celebrated the Series by drinking a can of beer he'd saved since 1984.
Which is a cool story ... until you find out that it was Coors.
Sometimes, people just make you want to cry.

That's a good beer. I LOVE Racer IPA from Bear Republic out of California. Hard to beat it.
Notes:
Style: American IPA
Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.50%
Notes / Commercial Description:
This hoppy American IPA is a full bodied beer brewed with American pale and crystal malts, and heavily hopped with Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial.

it's good. i've always hated when beers are bottled with yeast tho. i know there are benefits, but i hate drinking it so end up not pouring the last couple ounces of the beer.

Solid IPA. Drink by is on another level compared to their regular IPAs.
November 4th, 2016 at 9:10 PM ^
they're both world-class beers and about $16 for a sixer (at least here in the Midwest). I also prefer Stone, but it's not like they're not comparable in price and quality
