I honestly did not know they had a D-1 sports team.

a few years back, so Ive watched them here and there. They had a nice squad last year, really tough. Thats a pretty good league out there with some really, really good players in it.

Strange. From what I see, star player is back from injury for a 17-win team that didn't make the post season, picked to finish 2nd in the A-10.

tell you the one team in that Top 25 who will absolutely not make it to the Sweet 16.
Purdue.

I may be in the minority, but I think we will surprise people this year. Our core players are back and we have some good freshman. I don't think we will win the B1G, but we are a tournament team.

What a difference a year makes.

Raise your hand if you did a double-take when you saw Rhode Island was ranked. Hey, I see you in the back not raising your hand!

Suck it, Monmouth. We received 8 votes to your 7.

KenPom has us as a preseason 31, so that matches those rankings pretty well.
I continue to be surprised that we don't end up with better recruiting classes than we do. I know we aren't a blue blood basketball program, but we seem to be below a surprising number of teams.
Oh well -- just need to Win the Game!

With this year being "The Year of the Freshman" in College Basketball. There is going to be A LOT of upsets. Glad that we have a senior-laden team.
