Gif of Damion Terry getting blasted by Gedeon, Wormley, and Taco (w/ bonus smack talk)

Submitted by Fieldy'sNuts on

If you despise sparty like I do then you might remember Damion Terry talking talking smack to Michigan recruits on Twitter a few years ago shortly after he committed to MSU:

@DamionTerry: You guys are juniors in highschool talking about running College Football? #SaveThatShit
@DamionTerry: man these fools who are committed to Michigan in '14 talkin about they're going to run shit....haha
‏@dhicky695: they just don't know man
@DamionTerry: I just don't get it lol I guess college football is easy

Well, Mr. Terry, you were correct. College football ISN'T easy. It's hard. VERY hard:

As for that comment you made about who was going to be "running shit":

Hard to believe they're 2-6. It's easily one of their most talented teams ever and they can be really good for a quarter or 2. They just can't put it together for a whole game.

Talented? Their record speaks for itself as does our record.  We are playing for inclusion in the NC and they may not play in a bowl.

On RCMB they look at this year as a one and done for us.  While we certainly lose a lot next year, Michigan is not bereft of talent - experience maybe but not talent.  One huge advantage of winning many games as we have this year is the opportunity to play kids who will assume starting positions next year.   Our starting D-line nex year will be excellentt and we will have a good QB with a year of starting experience while their QB situation will be an unknown. We may also have 15 more practices this fall that they won't get.  Details.

Fuck them.

Blue Chip Ratio

He's probably correct.  While Sparty seems to be searching for an answer at QB, from a raw ratio or 4 & 5* : 2 & 3* athletes, MSU is right up there with Stanford and Washington at the moment.  They’re listed as being the 4th most talented program in the B1G just a little behind PSU.

MSU isn’t losing because they lack players…

I think they still are somewhat talented but their best players are still young. I think they'll be good again in 2018. Like 8-9 wins good. Their days of going 11-1 are over as long as Harbaugh and Meyer are around, not to mention teams like Wisconsin, Nebraska and (I hate saying this) Penn State. It's going to be really hard for them to get back to an elite level unless they start recruiting elite talent like Michigan and OSU. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we'll ever have an easy game against them but they won't beat us. They'll just have moral victories and wait till next year lol.

Based on recruit rankings, this team has more talent and upper class talent then previous teams. Personally, I think they miss their former top recruiter and emotional leader... Narduzzi. His players kept his teachings alive for a bit, but those guys who he influenced are leaving

Also quarters used to be an exotic/clever coverage. Now tons of teams run it so offenses have a lot more practice against it. Having a signature scheme is overrated as a long term strategy in a copycat sport. Look at Monte Kiffen and his cover two.

it has been a long time since sparty beat a michigan team that was much better than msu. they got real lucky since dantonio got there, and to his credit he rode michigans down years for all it was worth.

now if he can keep msu at this level while harbaugh is here that will be very impressive. good luck.

You're spot on.  If he can bounce back next year and have a good season.  that would reinforce his abilities as a coach.  If not he merely feasted off of the mediocrity of Dave Brandon and Bill Martin and bungling the coaching search(es).

The guy has beaten Urban Meyer to win Big Ten Titles on two separate occasions. He didn't need Michigan to suck for that to happen. His coaching abilities speak for themselves at this point.

And for everyone who's saying "Narduzzi was the real mastermind behind Dantonio's success," well, Dantonio went into OSU's place last year without Narduzzi, against arguably the most talented OSU roster ever assembled, and defensively slapped them around like they were a bunch of JV chumps.

He's having a down year, but he will find more success there again before his time is done.

Maybe. Maybe not. Their team has said repeatedly that their team identity is beating Michigan. They build confidence from it. What happens if they play their hearts out a couple years in a row and realize their best isn't good enough. Will they have confidence to win other games? Also, if you think Narduzzi left and his influence instantly left his upperclassmen leaders, then you are crazy. Narduzzi was the fire while Dantonio is the head of state. I guess we'll see.

You're partially correct. Dantini doesn't solely need M football to suck in order to challenge OSU for the B1G East title. He can also get there by way of last second, flukey punt plays. And I don't see him out-recruiting Harbaugh for in-state talent. Dantini's job just got much more difficult, and continues to do so each week.

Dude no good/great coach goes 2-6 (0-5) when they have down years. Either he is loosing it or he is not putting as much work as he use to, something just isnt right. A down/rebuild year will make you go 7-5 or 8-4 worst 6-6 but not this shit show. Yes they dont have a nfl QB but that team has plenty of talent.

so you dont think michigan being down and losing every year to msu didnt help dantonio in establishing that program? okay. see how many times msu wins the big ten now . without the biggest miracle of all time happening last year, sparty would already be on a two game losing streak, and no victory over osu last year either.

Conversation in the huddle probably went something like this:"Fuck it guys, let's just meet at the qb and go from there."
