Rival Week POSBANG Win #8

Submitted by UMProud on

We came, we played and we won.  Not perfect but we definitely did not kick the pooch nor was the game ever seriously in doubt.  Compared to our peers in the top 5 we are one of the most consistent performers.

Michigan 32

MSU 23

Something poetic about how MSU's score is the direct opposite of ours.  This is heaven's way of letting us know that order has truly been restored in the universe.

GO BLUE and onward to Maryland!

Peppers' two point return was even more "poetic."  It has replaced the Sparty Fluke as the highlight of the series for TV stations with short memories: like all of them.

Bang bang! A win is a win, even if it seemed like the high-octane offense was being driven by an 80-year old who can barely see over the steering wheel for parts of the 4th quarter.

(Yes, high octane may be a bit optimistic, but it had a great first half and fine third quarter)

I'll weakly correlate Peppers PAT return to last year's kick 6. Love rivalry wins! kind of makes it better, MSU thought they had a chance to win and then they FUBAR'd everything.

Sure we didn't play great. But it was a rivalry game, shit happens, and we've been dominate outside of it. And look at OSU these past 3 weeks and tell me they're not beatable. We definitely are too, but we're 8-0 and #2. That's all you can ask for.

Jim hinted to it one game. Think it was Colorado or UCF. Not how I'm going to put it but Peppers closing speed or adrenaline burst a lot of the time would be clocked under a 4.3 easily. Anyone who has the quick twitch and great closing speed/elite speed can vouch for what I'm talking about. There are just times when you are so much faster than you could ever be in a clocked 40 yard sprint or 100 meter dash. Game time situations. When you get the ball and see daylight or have to run someone down because the game depends on it, the studs (demi gods) have that higher gear or gears that cant ever be measured! Denard had it and so does Pep.

Yeah this makes no sense however you slice it.

We understand its highly unlikely to recover an onside kick and run it in dor a TD on the last play of the game, but then why even bother scoring once and then kicking the onside kick at all if you are not trying to win the game.  It was one of the most questionable coaching calls I've seen lately as its really just simple math to figure out you should kick and have the chance to win via extra point after a crazy fluke kicking play TD (not too soon anymore).

I love how we let them score first so little brother could feel all good about themselves then we smack back with two TD's. Then give them 3 points, we don't want them to take their ball and go home and complain to Mom. So then we beat up on him enough to win the game by half time. Then we just put our hand on his forehead while he swings at air till the 4th quarter. So we go back to not wanting him to leave (even though most of their fans did) and start complaining to Mom again, so we let him close the gap a little then just closed the game out near the end, again so they could feel good about themselves.....So on to the next team in our way to a N.C. Bring Maryland on and Go Blue!

HAIL TO THE VICTORS VALIANT!

Michigan leads Michigan State 69-35 all time, including a 20-14 record in East Lansing.

Even despite MSU's winning ways the past decade, Michigan also holds a winning record (9-8) since 2000.

THIS IS OUR STATE!

Trifecta of football, academic and college town superiority is reinstated!
