The fans. Plain and simple. I was EXTREMELY kind to them for all my life when we dominated. Since about 2010 they've been nothing but huge dicks. I'm effing sick of it and ready to unleash.

^^^ This right here.  I'm a 45 yr old man who is way past my scrappy younger days, and never have I wanted to punch some college kid in the face so badly as when I walked out of Michigan Stadium last year and walked up State St. through a guantlet of jeering and shit-talking MSU fans.

I will be extremely disappointed if our offense takes a knee at any point in this game.

WIN WITH CRUELTY.

Last year, when the Maize Rage travelled to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Basketball tournament, some 70 year old Spartan with a walker started harassing us. He told us our team was a disgrace to the Big Ten, that the real basketball teams wouldn't play till later, and he kept making obscene remarks about how shitty we as a fanbase were. Given that he was old and could barely walk, we elected not to retaliate. We were shocked as well, considering the only thing that provoked his comments was merely our existence.

Sure, Mork is a petulant, childish dickwad but their fans are theee fucking worst. I never said a damn word to any sparty during our decades long domination of them. When UM decided they wanted to see what it was like to be msu for a decade those same motherfuckers ran their mouths nonstop. Now, everywhere you go you see sparty bumper stickers, spare tire covers, hats. Where were all these fuckblasters in the 90s and early 00s? Fuck those fucking fuckers.

Mike Valenti is the Pied Piper who started this and keeps it going. If he didn't work in this market, you wouldn't have these problems. That fanbase can't think until he inserts thoughts into their tiny brains.

you see now with Sparty shit on it. T-shirts and jackets, hats. I live in Colorado and if I ever saw an MSU shirt in the past I usually would say hello to them and maybe even chat. Now all of a sudden they are everywhere and obnoxious about being a fan. I'm the same way where were all you people 10-15 years ago.

Michigan State has absolutely no way to build itself up or compliment itself without it being some kind of ripoff or teardown of U-M.  Remember those bumper stickers that said "U Call It Maize We Call It Corn"?  Now they have "Those Who Stayed Are Already Champions."  That kind of thing has gone on for years and never stopped.  Their very fight song was originally written to say, "Smash right through that line of blue."  They have nothing original.  They're people with such an inferiority complex that the only way they can feel good about themselves is to tear down someone else.  That's why the Little Brother thing was so apropos and continues to be to this day.  It's not about who's winning, it's about how they act.

They used to say "Go State" forever, but sometime over the last decade i noticed the switch to "Go Green".  I guess they relized "State" was generic and was already in use by so many other schools.  "Go Green" is such a lazy copy of "Go Blue" though...plus it makes me think more about recycling than their poop team.

Probably changed around the same time they dropped the block S and started using the sparty head on everything.  I mean, I know they were aiming for the prestige of being a block letter school like Michigan or the Ivies, but what was the S supposed to represent anyway?  State? Spartans?  Seems equally dumb to use your nondescript middle initial or the first letter of your mascot's name as your school's logo.

Entirely typical.  I recall a teacher in high school, whose classes I never took but whose room I was in a few times, who had bumper stickers like that affixed to a corkboard.  It was like, man, the rivalry stuff is one thing, showing support for your alma mater is one thing, but you do have students who are gonna go to that school.

This ^^^^^ exactly. I wonder if their 2016 slide turns permanent that this will be a major reason behind it. They have a so-so tradition and had an opportunity in the late aughts and early teens to join the ranks of upper-tier programs. (As much as Sam and others talk about blue blood programs being fixed, it really is possible to move up and down the ranks over decades, cf. Minnesota, Penn State, Florida State, and Wisconsin. And even Michigan--with Sparty's success in the 1950s and 1960s, and Michigan's off years, it really was possible that Michigan could have faded into mediocrity had Bo not turned things around) Yet, Mork D. Antoni is still peddling the underdog Disrespekt™ nonsense. Is that a way to recruit 4 and 5 stars and compete with UM and for the OSU long-term?

where's the threat, pride comes before the fall, let's have a moment of silence for them, we're laying in the weeds, those who've stayed became champions, interrupting a Michigan coach in Detroit, Cotton Bowl rings with the Michigan score on them, running a play for a touchdown with less than 10 seconds left in the game in 2013, Gholston's personal fouls, where'd all the Wolverines go.

I hate MD more than any other coach because he as his players have no class - although in BB Tom Crean is a close second. OSU has been kicking our ass for a long time and you don't hear crap like this from them. I've been watching since the late 60's and there are always more in game cheap shots by MSU than OSU. There may be a hate between M and OSU but there is also respect. No respect for MD or MSU given his responses.
