East Lansing Roll Call - Who is going? - Wear Maize?

Submitted by wildbackdunesman on

Who is going to the game this weekend?  I just got invited by a Spartan.

All week I will think about this game, I couldn't be more thrilled.  Of course any win we can get will be good enough, but I want a solid win.

I propose every Michigan fan in attendance wear maize, which will pop out more.

Be loud.....very loud.

Look at tv footage of games at the Stadium now compared with 12, 15, 20 years ago. The contrast is stark--there is far more maize in the crowd now than there used to be. You will be stunned seeing games from the 90s with how many people used to wear light colors like white and grey. Maybe not everybody wears it, but a lot do, and the difference is huge.

Spartans are unloading their tickets?  No way, all the rhetoric I've seen from MSU fans on the internet is how they are all true diehard fans while Michigan fans are a bunch of Walmart, bandwagon hoppers.  Now you're suggesting that was never true?  Say it ain't so.

Show up.  Be loud.  Demoralize them.

A Spartan fan invited you to the game between his team, which is a three touchdown underdog, and yours, his most hated rival?

Be careful.  I've heard this story before, and it ends up with you waking up in a bathtub full of ice missing your kidneys.

they are already posting all the players Michigan will lose this year, so it's only going to be bad this year. next year they will go back to dominating. this is really what msu fans are saying.

How many freshmen have played significant minutes this season already?  Michigan may take a step back next season, that's what happens when you wind up at the top of the heap, you usually only have no place to go but down.  MSU almost certainly will rebound to be better next year, but their run of 11 win seasons is done and a victory over U of M in Ann Arbor is far from assured.

The league is showing signs of rebounding all around and MSU is about to turn back into a pumpkin.

Taking my wife (UM grad). She keeps asking if I'm sure Michigan is gonna win. Uh, yeah I'm sure. I just want to see us keep it within 30, maybe see something out of Lewerke/Scott/Corley to give me hope for next year. Our defense is awful, not sure I can look forward to anything there.

The reality here, is this; MSU can't beat Michigan, they are completely overmatched this season.  That said, Michigan can certainly beat itself; but if we keep the mistakes to a minimum and play the game we're capable of playing, there's not a damn thing the Spartans can do that would allow them to come out on top.

That said, does anyone think Michigan is going to show up this weekend and play their sloppiest game of the season after all the bullshit they've had to endure from Dantonio and his minions the past few years?  Our guys are going to be laser-focused and pissed.

MSU is doomed and paybacks are a bitch.
