Until consoles can realistically replace a DVR or cable box, I'm in this boat. I don't play enough games at my age to justify a PC and a console.

I think I'd miss the constant background reserach on which video card gives the best bang for the buck, or is a SSD worth it (oh yes) as well.

I doubt it. Mark my words, this will get delayed just like most major titles these days. I expect it Winter 2018/19 at the earliest. Still pumped for this though, and I'm gonna be all over this when it's released. Loved the first Redemption, and my wife loves watching me play it. Win-Win-Win.

Gamers are fickle people, but as a gamer I also hate when people online get all butthurt when a game is delayed, like they want a broken game. I'd rather wait an extra year for a perfectly designed game with good QA that play a broken game a year earlier (see: Arkham Knight on PC, most games from EA and Ubisoft lately).

It's already been announced lol.

I don't think it gets delayed. Rockstar put a lot of projects on hold when they realized GTA online was going to be a long-term moneymaker. It's believed they canceled a second solo campaign for GTA 5. Total guess but I bet any delay has already been built into the timeline because of the ample GTA online funds. What was the last major rockstar release anyway? It's been three years since gta5. If there is any delay, it's a few months, not years.

I come to MGoBlog for all my late video game news.

I kid, I kid. Loved RDR, can't wait for this one. Not sure my wife would agree since she absolutely HATED how much time I spent playing the first one.

Consider this the next GTA. Knowing Rockstar, they're gonna make a GTA V/Online clone with a western skin and stories that correspond with the time and setting. If you like GTA and don't mind a different skin on it, then you'll like this just fine. This is assuming it's like the first RDR, which I expect it to be, except with a better online mode (which will be built like GTA Online...I'm seeing a pattern emerging.)
