OT: Jake Long Signs with Vikings
Finally healthy after enduring all of the ACL tears, Jake Long has signed a one year deal with the Vikings to shore up their depleted OL. Excited to see one of my favorite Michigan players in purple.
Skol and Go Blue!

pain.
ACL surgery seems pretty fickle. Hopefully Long makes this season worthy of more pain.
Inspiration to Newsome perhaps...

That's Chad Greenway. They're now teammates.

My Giants suck, so may as well cheer for teams with Wolverines

As a fellow Giants fan, I was actually hoping we would sign Jake. Our line has been terrible. Have to think that Jake would have helped!

I think the Jags have the most with 4 on the roster. So you can't escape the suck.

Tore mine and don't wish that on anyone.
He's on my all time top 25 favorite Wolverine list!

Long told ESPN in June he was "finally healthy ... the best I've felt in five or six years." His pronouncement was endorsed to teams by Dr. James Andrews, who has performed Long's surgeries and overseen the player's recovery.
Hopefully he can stay on the field with a good team.

As a longtime Vikings fan, I support this signing wholeheartedly.

As a Lions fan, I think it sucks. But glad that Jake avoided that "giant sucking sound" - which is the quicksand and the swamp that is Detroit Lions football.
Best quarterbacks for Lions in last 50 years:
1) Matt Stafford
2) Gary Danielson/Greg Landry
3) All the other QBs that have stunk in last 50 years
4) Joey Harrington and Andre Ware, who were absolutely worthless after using up a high draft pick.
Not that I feel strongly about this as a bitter Lions fan...

Damn - confused, thought it was Jake Rudock who signed w Vikings.
Please save above comments for when another team signs Jake Rudock...
Sincerely,
Dumb ass

Erik Kramer deserves mention above all the other QBs that have stunk in the last 50 years.

Same here. Love to see my favorite lineman going to my favorite NFL squad. Almost as good as when they got Hutch!

Or Leroy Hoard!

Excellent point! The epitome of 3 yards and a cloud of dust

He's going on his 10th year, right?
That's an impressive career, and I hope his injury heals fully, to the point where it doesn't affect life after football.

Jake Long signs with the Sam Bradford led, undefeated, Minnesota Vikings.
How many people saw that coming?

Greenway and Long playing as foes in the Big10! Now teammates. Brings a tear to my eye. Skol and Go Blue!!!

Starting RT Lane Johnson was suspended today for PEDs. It is his second career suspension, so he will be out 10 games. Jake Long, at this stage of his career, might make a decent right tackle.

As a Vikings fan, I was happy about the news too. But he has to play with this guy: LINK
