D. Hart update
I know there was an update posted a week or two ago but this was on rivals today. Not looking very good for us at this point, I know there is still 11 months left but he has some concerns about RR. He is graduating early and would like to commit early, so even if we go out and win 9 games next year it may be to late.

Who is Heros? The Greek God of football?
Hero was a priestess of Aphrodite who dwelt in a tower. So....hail to the womanly tower dwellers?
Thank you for pointing that out. Fixed.
I think this one has pretty much been beaten to death........
there is still 11 months left
This phrase is quickly becoming overused.
The kids who want to come to UM will; those who don't won't. You can't get everyone you want, and the only ones who will be relevant at UM are those who actually decide to wear the maize and blue. He is a decent recruit, but so are a couple thousand of them a year.
I get your point to an extent, but don't go saying that this guy is just a "decent recruit" just because he is showing signs of losing interest. If you truly feel that he's not that important of a recruit, then that's your opinion, but when I watch his film, I see an absolute stallion that will shread up defenses in college football. I agree that we can't get too mad about missing out on one player, but I think your argument about only wanting kids who want to play for us doesn't apply here because a half-year ago this dude bled maize and blue. He's going to go wherever is the place for him, as he should, I just hope he decides that that place is Ann Arbor, MI
I think he is just haveing second thoughts because of the whole NCAA deal, but once that is all sorted out and we win 8-10 games he will be ours
No worries, but also being discussed here:

My apologies, didn't realize it had been posted just yesterday on page 5 of the mgoboard. Yeah well, mine has a link. Haha
Hence me saying "no worries." :)
Spring practices really, really need to start asap.
but I read somewhere or maybe heard Sam Webb say that Hart and/or his parents weren't just concerned about the NCAA investigation itself but also the impact on whether RR was going to be around or not. I think Webb mentioned the possibility of Brandon extending RR's contract. You'll hear some pretty loud howling from some quarters if RR gets extended before the 2010 season starts, but it might be the smart thing to do in the short term from a recruiting standpoint.
I heard him say that as well, and I was thinking about the pros/cons of an extension. It would help recruiting, as well as quieting much of the perceived instability. Although some people would be completely "up in arms" over it, I'm sure the same buyout would remain in place. It would be a gamble, but if they truly thought the program were on the verge of something special under Rich Rod, it could turn out to be an extremely brilliant move to extend him on the cheap.
If he comes great, if not, that sucks, but Wolverine Football goes on either way. I just can't wait for spring ball to start so we can evaluate where we are as a team.
I'm guessing all the people who care about Michigan recruiting care.
You don't? That's fine.
isn't choosing a school, officially, for about a year. So there is no point is wasting breathe bickering on whether or not he comes here. If you want to, by all means....But i'd wait it out until I started hitting panic buttons.
Is there a point to *anything* we talk about on here? Does it really matter who the best RB in Michigan history is? Does it matter whether I think Warren will go in the 3rd round and somebody else thinks he'll go in the 5th?
It's all for entertainment. That's why this blog thrives. People are going to talk about this stuff, and it's not hurting anything. I just don't see how "who cares?" is a relevant response.
I'd like to have Dee on the squad as much as anyone here, but if it doesn't happen...Then IMO "who cares?" I'm a Michigan fan not a Dee Hart fan, if he doesn't want to be a part of the team for whatever reason(s), then so be it. There are other fish in the sea, with just as much wiggle.
So...the answer to "who cares?" is "BrayBray1 cares."
Now- No.
would be good. Because, it would help our recruiting, and it would allow the terms of his original contract to be modified to a potentially less costly buyout. kind of a win-win.
Yeah that would make about as much sense as signing Beilein to an extension right after blowing a huge lead and losing to Northwestern. Way too premature to sign RR to an extension. He hasn't proven anything at Michigan yet.
I really hope he signs with us before it's all over. Say what you want but this kid is a beast. We have been recruiting him forever, it would suck of he signs somewhere else.
Sad state we are in when kids who grow up dreaming about strapping on a winged helmet have to be closely recruited. It could be a while before we get any OMG shirtless in AA.
