Munn Invasion

Submitted by BeileinBuddy on

As you are aware, M hockey takes on Sparty in the 2nd round of the CCHA playoffs. Sparty will be on spring break next week. Even though Munn Ice Arena is already comparable to a library on game days, I feel we can truly outnumber Sparties in their own building all weekend.

That being said, we need a strong Munn invasion to help our chances for a CCHA Semifinal berth.

To get started, here's the link for tickets from MSU's website. Someone else confirm that MGoBlue will be selling our allotment of tickets starting tomorrow, please.

Buy buy buy my hockey brethren and may we flood the green and white with the maize and blue.

I was hoping this was going to be an Olivia Munn invasion. Oh well. Good idea you had too though.

This thread had so much potential had it been about Olivia Munn.

You're right though, as far as hockey arenas go, the crowd at Munn is about as quiet as they get. I'm a State fan, but I'll admit that I don't really like Munn. Never been to Yost, heard its insane. Been to Lawson (WMU) more times than I can count, love that arena.

Back in the late 80s and early 90s, before Red's program had really taken off and Yost had not yet become the hurt locker that it is today, MSU fans routinely came down and bought out the arena. Pretty humiliating. I remember the Daily running an article before one game pleading with students to buy up tickets (only $4 back then!) for an upcoming U of M / MSU game to prevent Sparty from taking over the building again.

Be nice to turn the tables on the Spartans for such an important game. Hopefully the Daily is taking up the cause on campus.
