Tigers are going to have to win out. They looked great today. They're finally healthy and peaking at the right time. That make up game vs Cleveland could be the decider and I wish that wasn't the case.

I would imagine cleveland's decision whom to pitch Monday will be depending on if they can overtake Boston for 2nd seed. If they can't...look for them to pitch their best AAA pitcher.

Can never get enough mlb in early October as the heart of cfb kicks in. Or perhaps you can. To each his own. ( Stanford qb sacked again as I type )

Please Tigers beat out Baltimore....so all these fucking Orioles fans around me will STFU up.

That and it will be much easier for me to drive to Fells Point for brunch if the Orioles aren't playing anymore.

I'm not the most knowledgeable baseball fan, but seems like there aren't many players as clutch as miggy. And jeter, obviously. But who else has been so clutch for such a long time? Can't be more than 5 players in recent years. We're so lucky to have him

I am rooting for Orioles and Blue Jays to loose the next two and tigers to win the next two. If that happens, would Tigers even play the makeup game?

Yes they would have to play Monday. Under your scenario the Tigers (if they won all 3) would either host the Orioles OR the winner of a 1 game playoff between Orioles and Mariners (if Seattle wins their last two games against Oakland). Fun...Fun stuff. I'm just hoping Orioles win tomorrow afternoon/evening and Toronto loses. That wraps up Wild Card game at Camden Yards and whether it be Tigers, Blue Jays, or Mariners....I'll be there.

If we have to play a tiebreaker Tuesday, and we win, any chance Verlander throws on 2 days rest for the wild card game on Wed? I'm a fan but definitely not a baseball guru. Who would we be pitching in that scenario?

Typical rest period for a starter is 5 days.  Short rest in playoff scenarios is usually 3-4 days.

I remember back in 2008 when the Brewers traded for Sabathia they ran him ragged the last month of the season trotting him out on 4 days rest three straight times.  He the got hammered in their playoff game against Philly.
