Wisc LB Biegel foot injury (Confirmed)
Just saw this on the Wisconsin 247 board. They seem fairly despondent toward the bottom. Thought it was interesting enough to post. Sucks for the kid.
Edit: Rumor is broken foot in practice Wed.
Edit #2: Moms feel free to kill this if it's not appropriate rumormongering.

According to the defense breakdown on the front page, a top recruit/dangerman/All-American OLB

This isn't a rumor any more. Jesse Temple at ESPN has confirmed Biegel had a screw inserted tonight. He's out.

Dammit, you replied to me as I was adding the link. Oh well.

He's having a great year. Would be unfortunate to see him lost for the year.
September 29th, 2016 at 5:55 PM ^
I appreciate it
September 29th, 2016 at 6:41 PM ^
I don't know who Biegel is, but I do believe that Jack, Janet, Chrissy and Larry used to frequent a bar by that name...
September 29th, 2016 at 6:55 PM ^
or the reverse? I can't remember, but still hate Tom McMillan. Anyway, kid was getting his name called a lot last Saturday.
September 29th, 2016 at 7:40 PM ^
I don't know who Janet, Chrissy, and Larry are, but I've got friends and that's a fact.
Like Agnes, Agatha, Germaine, and Jack.

Wisconsin defender having a great year, also wrote a very nice article in the player's tribune:

That would be huge if true.
September 29th, 2016 at 6:04 PM ^
He is their best player and a great leader for them.

I get this weird bad feeling that this is one of those types of injuries that the rest of the team would rally around and play better instead of worse.
September 29th, 2016 at 5:43 PM ^
I'll take that risk.
September 29th, 2016 at 5:45 PM ^
Until the guy that replaces him blows a play or loses the edge a couple times. Then doubt creeps in and demoralizes the team. Emotion doesn't win games.
September 29th, 2016 at 5:49 PM ^
You must get weird bad feelings about a lot of things.
September 29th, 2016 at 5:58 PM ^
Then again (assuming this is true) it's not necessarily out of the realm of possibility to think that this could impact the game in a way that favors Michigan. I'm not familiar enough with their roster to know how significant this loss is for Wiscy or the impact it will have on this upcoming game. They could easily have enough players to mask this unfortunate loss for them. Idk.
Regardless, what an awful way to go out. Middle of the week right before a huge game?? Yikes. Here's to a speedy recovery.

It's a coach's device to keep the team motivated but a motivated team with their best player is a lot better than a motivated team without its best player
September 29th, 2016 at 6:53 PM ^
but the question to ask to determine how much the theory is BS is...
is a highly motivated team without the best player better than a less motivated team with the best player?
honestly, in football there are varying degrees.
September 29th, 2016 at 7:07 PM ^
I don't know, they claim the injury to Eric Mayes helped motivate our 1997 team. of course we had Woodson which also helped...
September 30th, 2016 at 12:56 AM ^
And Hall, and Dhani, and Sword, and Gold, and Griese, and Tuman, and Streets, and A-Train, and Hutchinson, and Jansen, and Backus, and...
It's nice to have an inspirational narrative but it's probably better to just have a shit-ton of NFL level talent.
September 29th, 2016 at 6:33 PM ^
Not actually a thing.
September 29th, 2016 at 7:18 PM ^
Rally around and play better for sure. But better than the players who are on the field play normally, not better than the defense would play if they had this injured player. So it's a net negative.
September 29th, 2016 at 8:10 PM ^
lost Clark?
Unfortunately injuries happen. Let's not get dramatic.

Losing your team's best defensive player and arguably best player overall is a lot more impactful than losing your team's 3rd best cornerback.
September 29th, 2016 at 11:35 PM ^
The discussion is about the rest of the guys rallying. Clark was a senior and leader of the team, as evidenced by everyone grouping around him to comfort him.
September 29th, 2016 at 8:46 PM ^
So using that logic, if say 3 or 4 more wiscy stars got hurt, we will get blown out! Fuck, I hope the rest of them stay healthy.
September 30th, 2016 at 8:18 AM ^
the solution would be to start knee-capping our own players.
September 29th, 2016 at 9:23 PM ^
I assume that will be cancelled out by Michigan rallying around Jeremy Clark, who is lost for the entire season instead of just a few weeks. EDIT: Point already made by BlueCube.
