Penn State Snowflakes: General Observations
This will be the repository for your thoughts which defy categorization but yet still fit neatly into the category of hot take.
Also, people have asked about it, so if you have rebranding ideas and want to call these threads, something else, I am listening.

Sorry. I misread. Happy anniversary.

Who says MGoBlogging and, uh, marital relations are mutually exclusive? I always blog with a handheld device. It's a dual-threat capability. :-)

How do some of these down votes even happen? (OK, I know HOW, so I guess it's really a WHY!?)
How, I mean WHY - do you down vote someone wishing someone else a good day?
Between UM, ND and MSU it's been a really good day. Looks like there's a bunch of bloggers that need to get laid. (Maybe for the first time? That would explain the negativity!)
PS - Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all!
September 24th, 2016 at 7:18 PM ^
Even Ohio State didn't have a win today ;) Happy Birthday!
September 24th, 2016 at 7:06 PM ^
We didn't get a shut out, therefore our defense is garbage.

The refs practically willed Pedd State down the field on that drive. The terrible ball placement and that bullshit pass interference on that pass that wasn't catchable.
September 24th, 2016 at 8:35 PM ^
That PI call was turrible.

And many many holding flags held firmly in place on the refs' hips
September 25th, 2016 at 3:28 AM ^
I'm still waiting on a holding call against our opponents. Our dl have to lead the country on non holding calls against.. well if they kept track of how many holds the refs .used verse a dl they would.

Great fucking job in every facet of the game. We fuckin dominated man! Let's go!!!!

My favorite quote from Mlive's game recap "Penn State coach James Franklin caused a bit of a stir this summer when some believed he insinuated that a few Big Ten teams were negatively recruiting against his program... Well, on Saturday, Jim Harbaugh spent 60 minutes negatively recruiting against Penn State"
September 24th, 2016 at 11:15 PM ^
Frankin negatively recruited all by himself for 60 minutes. But did he say that penn state out hit us?
BTW, FUCK penn state and all their delusional joepa loving fans!!!
September 25th, 2016 at 1:51 AM ^
ESPN/abc crowdshotted the students and prominently showed a guy with a "Joe Knew" t-shirt. It was glorious.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:07 PM ^
Think the result would have been a little different if we were up against that stout Blue Devils defense.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:31 PM ^
Yeah we're really lucky that we didn't have Alabama on the schedule today. They're a totally different opponent than Penn State!
September 24th, 2016 at 7:08 PM ^
We love you
September 24th, 2016 at 7:13 PM ^
Any idea what happened? It looked like a non-contact injury!

Announcers were right to speculate. I'm concerned that he may be done. No inside info, just the nature of what happened.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:09 PM ^
Harbaugh losing his mind on both bad calls and repeated false starts when still up 25 late in the 4th...
SWOON.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:15 PM ^
He certainly had a point on the no-call PI, especially after the ones Michigan got called for.

It looked to me that the defense was in the neutral zone and caused the line to jump on both penalities.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:10 PM ^
Couldn't have asked for a better cfb day... UM beat ped state by 39, wisco beat the shit out of MSU, ND lost, and osu didn't play (I never like seeing them win)
September 24th, 2016 at 7:16 PM ^
Let's include the EMU win last night!
September 24th, 2016 at 10:00 PM ^
Winning streak!! Break up the EMU's.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:11 PM ^
1. Sucks for Jeremy.
2. Franklin is going to get fired.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:23 PM ^
Brian VanGorder might not last the next five minutes.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:39 PM ^
Never actually saw him before. Poor Uncle Rico.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:56 PM ^
Bust Must Plus could use a jolt to the sales team.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:25 PM ^
He will not be fired. The administration and most of their fans are committed to him seeing his first class through and given the state of their program, that's the correct call.
September 24th, 2016 at 9:20 PM ^
On Franklin, never interrupt your enemy while they're making a mistake. Spread the word, he's better than Harbaugh and PSU should keep him forever.
September 24th, 2016 at 11:17 PM ^
I hope they keep franklin for a long time!!!
September 24th, 2016 at 7:12 PM ^

Forgot to mention this in the other threads, but I'll drop it here in the event a few people see it - I will peruse these threads and suggestions for rebranding the "Snowflake" will make it into a thread sometime in this coming week. The people asked, so the we can have a community meeting about it, or the MGoBlog equivalent.
September 24th, 2016 at 8:02 PM ^
snowflakes is perfect.
September 24th, 2016 at 10:25 PM ^
Snowflakes are fine.
No need to go all Dave Brandon on this.
September 25th, 2016 at 5:58 AM ^
Name is fine. I think we need less Snowflake threads. Look at the number of comments - not too high. This general thread is by far the highest. I think that is because people prefer to discuss their observations in one place and not have to break them apart. I think we would be MUCH better served with one general thread plus maybe one other thread depending on the game (for example last week: Snowflake thread: Is UM running game in trouble?).

is it time to reconsider Field Turf? I'm starting to think it's causing these non contact injuries.
last week Colorado suffered 2 ACL injuries on our turf. today Clark got bit.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:27 PM ^
Fuck no. Grass is a thing of the past all ver football in non-warm climates. Our sod was a mess.
September 24th, 2016 at 7:28 PM ^
I would prefer natural grass, but didn't they have issues maintaining it?

Yes, it was terrible the whole time we had it.

We could collect all those coasters and doormats and stitch the old Bo era turf back together
