TJ Maxx in Ann Arbor?

Submitted by will on

Guys -

So I have a dream, not a inspiring one, but one that I came up with last year. I want to have every UM jersey, 1-99. Obviously some numbers are more likely to be had, and have recurring usefulness.

I don't have the budget to make the dream come true anytime soon, so my goal is to buy last year's jerseys every year.

My question is this - have you guys seen any of the quality jerseys at the local TJ Maxx? I'd obviously be willing to cover cost + shipping if I could get some assistance buying these.. The 4+ hour drive to AA makes this a little harder..

So far I have 7, 20, and 86.

TJ Maxx has some kickin' stuff for the prices. We just bought a small dresser for the TV and whatnot in the bedroom in there, a NICE piece of furniture, for $125.

The last $125 piece of furniture I bought anywhere besides there was a piece of crap that actually arrived broken and I had to fix myself because Value City wouldn't take it back.

You're unfortunately going to have to scale this dream down a bit (unless you decide to spend a fortune special-ordering). For one thing, five of our jersey numbers are retired, so you'll never find a #11, #47, #48, #87 or #98 in a TJ Maxx. But beyond that, only offensive skill players' jerseys are sold, for the most part. The vast majority of numbers are never going to be on a jersey for sale.

There will be a few jerseys there. I have seen 4 and 10 there, but they are generally the Nike, silk-screened versions. Good luck.

you could also buy number-less jerseys and have the numbers sewn on them...a lot of work...but if you have a stay-at-home-wife... ;)

It's much easier just to collect the big ones... I've been able to get the #1, 2, 4, 7 and 10 for under $100 total.

Once a player "number" graduates, their jersey can usually be had for less than $20.

Still trying to find a 21 and 32, but I'm in no rush.

I still got the A-Train jersey from back in the day. But I wore it so much the screen numbers are basically invisible now. As for a 21, I got one at a Champs sports that was going out of business in my home town. It's a throw back and looks pretty weak, the maize isn't even close to the right color, but it was nike and under 20 bucks so I picked it up. Other than that all I have is 2 and 20

The sidewalk sales during the Ann Arbor Art Fair--typically the State St/North U sports shops--seem to have a lot of jerseys/last season's t-shirts/merchandise on clearance.

I bought a really cool Bo t-shirt a couple summers ago.

You'll have to deal with the crowds but it's actually a lot of fun!

So i asked this at the end of last season.

Now I'm wondering if anyone has seen Minor's, etc, jerseys for sale there recently?

I sported my 20 last week on campus here at OSU last week.. With shaw likely out this week, wishing I had more numbers.
