What happened to TWIS?
Does anyone know why Brian stopped doing TWIS? That was one of my favorite things to read and it doesn't seem like anyone has really taken over since he stopped. This week's stars would be:
Iowa
FSU (Saturday)
Ole Miss
FSU (Sunday - hangover edition)
Wisconsin in the 4th qtr
Oklahoma
LSU (fun even when they win)

I don't know the why, but Brian stopped before last season. They had someone else doing it last year but it wasn't nearly as good. No clue if that's why they aren't doing it this year.

The fill-in after Brian stopped doing it was Ryan Nanni, I believe (@celebrityhottub on Twitter), and as I recall, a lot of people here anyway complained about how they were pretty up and down quality-wise after that (I would agree). This year, it seems to have been farmed out to various SBNation sites - it might have been Alabama's site even picking up the slack last week, if I am right.
Anyway, it seems as if it is a feature that might blink out - I hope I am wrong there.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Found it and it is... not very funny. Basically just trolls the SB nation comments sections from the losers of a handful of games and throws in a GIF and poll. Doesn't bother to look at other fan sites/boards/blogs.
Ryan Nanni at least added an appropriate level of snark, although it was a step down from Brian's version of it. That's too bad.
In case you want to torture yourself, here is the new version of TWIS, now called NSFW (because they use bad words).

I'm like 99% sure this was around while TWIS was also around. I believe this would get posted on r/cfb every week last season.

Some of them rants had LOL in my office.
TCU's problem is they cant score on offense and not very good on defense. Priceless.

I feel like tech practices offense all week then 15 minutes before the game starts they say "oh shit we forgot about defense"
I like it.

This was too...
Of all the frustrating losses in the Kliff Kingsbury era at Texas Tech, this one is by far the most recent.
That quote has an elliptical elegance about it.

...this year, from a thread earlier this year here on MGoBlog. The Shutdown Fullcast is pretty entertaining. Snarky is the #1 word I would use to describe Nanni. His podcast personal is almost TWIS personified.

And I can't believe you left off the best TWIS fandom of all time, Notre Dame.
September 19th, 2016 at 3:27 PM ^
gone, but not forgotten.
September 19th, 2016 at 3:29 PM ^
I definitely forgot about that guy. He deleted everything; videos, his blog, they're all gone.
September 19th, 2016 at 4:13 PM ^
Is that the dude who posted about how he released his fish into the creek after UTL 2011?
September 19th, 2016 at 6:30 PM ^
That's what I liked the most about that guy. He wasn't hot-takey, but he knew Notre Dame was going to win and was so outword about it. Then when Notre Dame lost, like the Forcier game, he embarked on these soul searching journeys with maximum hilarity for anyone watching.

Because you touch yourself at night
September 19th, 2016 at 3:43 PM ^
I prefer the morning, but there's never a bad time.

You filthy monster.
September 19th, 2016 at 3:22 PM ^
I think Brian handed it off a couple years back because he said something along of the lines of being at a place in his career where he just wanted to write and no longer needed/wanted to troll message boards for funny comments.
September 19th, 2016 at 3:31 PM ^
Don't we all wish we reach that level of career success, to no longer have to go look for the trolls of the internet. Congrats to Brian on such success (and no I'm not being condescending).

Suck up
September 19th, 2016 at 3:32 PM ^
Yep. The time commitment for it was way out whack for the rewards, and putting it together became a total drag.
September 19th, 2016 at 3:54 PM ^
but you were so good at it... ;)
September 19th, 2016 at 3:23 PM ^
Actually the Bama SBNation Roll Bama Roll blog has a weekly meltdown post that is pretty much the sae as TWIS. This week's doesn't seem to be up yet but it should be either today or tomorrow.
September 19th, 2016 at 4:37 PM ^
I find that one to be not quite as good since it focuses more on SEC teams and there is no commentary or awards like Scott Tenorman of the Week. Still better than nothing though.
September 19th, 2016 at 3:29 PM ^
I'm in the minority but I felt like TWIS was one or two good rants/nervous breakdowns, and a bunch of generic swear words assembled in slightly different ways. It got worse as it gained popularity, with people seemingly vying for a spot by going over the top in artificial anger.
September 19th, 2016 at 3:40 PM ^
Plenty of good writers on this site with too much time on their hands already.

Go for it grammar king!

TWIS would have been nice because of Notre Dame.
Yeah, I was disgusted with how good Sparty looked but Notre Dame losses will always be like poetry in motion.
September 19th, 2016 at 4:27 PM ^
I bet David Gibbs is googling "how to stop the wildcat" on the sidelines right now.
That's priceless.
September 19th, 2016 at 4:28 PM ^
I would pay so much money to have someone go back and do TWIS for the Texas and MSU losses of Notre Dame this season
September 19th, 2016 at 4:36 PM ^
Even if he brought back some of the great morsels like this one:
"Daddy, was Notre Dame ever good?"
September 19th, 2016 at 5:39 PM ^
This gif, it is excellent.

Speaking of outside contributions, what about the blog poll? It seems like that hasn't been around for a few years.

So glad Brian Kelly never ended up at Michigan. I can't believe ND actually just gave him a contract extension. Kelly always thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and you can see this by quality, or lack there of, of his DC. It should have been obvious in his first season he was in over his head. Especially after losing at home to Tellllllsa and telling everyone to "get used to it." Harbaugh better not lose to this clown.
September 19th, 2016 at 9:04 PM ^
Anything ND would be worth the read.

Brian left, his replacement sucked hard.
