D. Warren - Disappointing 40
He ran a 4.65 and 4.68.
http://www.draftinsider.net/blog/?p=1081
I believe those times are unofficial.
Whatever his time was (someone reported a 4.59 earlier), I don't think anyone really expected him to run a blazing forty. This is likely why he's mentioned playing safety at the next level, because it's tough to stick at corner when you run a 4.6-4.7.
So Brandon Graham is as fast as Donovan Warren. Wow BG is a beast.
hurting his hamstring in the process
Donovan, say hello to the 4th round of the NFL draft.
So, how slow is JT Floyd.
I always figured that, being a slow white guy, I probably couldn't play cornerback for UofM. Now I'm thinking maybe I sold myself short...
Donovan, you knucklehead. Good luck and all that. But I hope you have plans to finish up your degree.
His decision was still the right one. He wouldn't run any faster next year. He's still going to get drafted high enough to make good money. He can always come back for a year or finish school in the offseason.
I wish he stayed, but its pure self-interest, not in Donovan's.
welcome him (back).
year make him faster?
attaches him self to that rubberband thing and has barwis yell at him like BG did.
just type "barwis" and the gods will bequeath 20 mgopoints upon you.
yes. peak age for speed is like 22-24.
but presumably that's not going to change too much and even if it gets him into CB range, he's only going to have a few seasons at that level. a team that wants him long term knows he's a safety.
Crunchberries.
DWarren will never be a starter in the NFL. Lock the thread.
I heard Zoltan did more bench reps than Warren. Can anyone confirm or deny?
only has to do one rep. Well wouldn't you if that one rep was lifting a planet?
Zoltan just stared at the weights and due to his complete awesomeness, they did 50 reps themselves.
They only did 50 since he didn't want to show-off
Zoltan only did one rep. Everyone left after they got tired of waiting for it to come back down.
I expected a faster forty being he was not carrying the Michigan secondary at the combine.
Does he have enough time to make it up?
March 12 according to the NFLN. So no, I'd say he really doesn't have much time.
Too bad for him and for Michigan. Recruits love schools that have lots of high draft picks, regardless of the NFL's ability to identify talent.
so why'd he leave? I think I said a while ago the later the round he goes, the more of a reflection on Michigan it is. Because it's obviously not the pay day, right? Then again I don't know his home/family situation, which is a big variable.
anyone think he's regretting his decision to enter yet? I hope BG is chirpin in his ear
I doubt he regrets his dicision, and I don't know what Graham could be chirpin' in his ear... He can't come back. It's over, all we can do now is wish him the best of luck. It's time to move on with the players we have.
He's a good football player, period.
Some team will get a steal in the later rounds.
Wow he is not an Tosu guy. Support him !
Go Blue
Trent run at the combine? Yes, I know his self-reported speed was something ridiculously FAKE.
According to the NFL Combine website, Trent ran a 4.47

Wow, do we all work for the Raiders? Who really cares how fast someone runs without pads? Shouldn't what a guy does, you know, when he actually plays football matter most?
This is why the combine is such a waste of time in my opinion. If Suh showed up and didn't bench press as much as expected or run as fast as other defensive tackles, would anyone really think he should drop out of the first 2 spots? It's about what you can do on the field in game situations, not about how high you can jump or how fast you run in non-game situations.
Matt Millen would
I love how FAKE 40s become real at the NFL combine. Warren was advertised as a big corner who ran a 4.4 coming out of HS. Now he's about the same size as Ray Vinopal and two steps slower.
I think this really does hurt his draft stock. He's not fast enought to be a deep safety and I don't remember him being a great ball hawk or run support guy. I don't see him going first day unless he gets to a low 4.5 by pro day.
This why he needed to come back for another year and work on his speed with Barwis.
Apparently he was also "ineffective" in drills with no burst, backpedal, or ability to change directions.

Well I hope that the coaches were busy with the lousy players and ole #33, to not prepare him better. But then again, you coach players for the game and your system first, the NFL and the future second.
