Better than any team we played in non conference last year besides Utah.
September 11th, 2016 at 10:45 AM ^
Not better than BYU even without their QB
September 11th, 2016 at 10:50 AM ^
I don't know if we are certain they are better than BYU last year. Colorado's two opponents in 2016 have been even worse than ours. I think Colorado is improved from last year, but that may not be saying much. Their statistical profiles so far:
ESPN FPI: #37
Sagarin: #37
Massey: #65
SRS: #30
The S&P+ and FEI data are not out yet. But it is hard to glean much from these profiles because the data is so limited right now.

This. The skiing in Utah is much better.
September 11th, 2016 at 11:36 AM ^
And I would put Jackson Hole above it as well. Maybe Tahoe too.
September 11th, 2016 at 12:10 PM ^
Tahoe is not better than most places in Colorado from a pure terrain and snow perspective, that's not even an argument. Never been to Jackson Hole but I hear great things. I like Utah skiing a lot but it's not hugely different than Colorado, and the season in Colorado is a little longer. A Basin, for example, closed on June 12th this year and is probably going to open up again pretty soon.
September 11th, 2016 at 12:15 PM ^
I respect your opinion. However the chasm between Utah and Colorado skiing is so wide I will not bother defending. It's pretty widely accepted.
September 11th, 2016 at 12:47 PM ^
Utah has better snow but the backcountry (where the real action is these days) is getting crowded over there. Colorado offers more room to roam alone.
September 11th, 2016 at 1:02 PM ^
Good call. It was getting bad when I left 11 years ago.
September 11th, 2016 at 8:24 PM ^
Snowmass much? Roaring fork valley is hard to beat, and I'd throw Crested Butte in there cause it is reasonably close by. But I like to fish as well, there aren't many other places anywhere where you can ski a place as good as Snowmass in the morning and fish the Frying Pan in the afternoon.
September 11th, 2016 at 12:21 PM ^
maybe not, but the ambience, the vibe, the sun, and the heat...make it most enjoyable.
September 11th, 2016 at 12:20 PM ^
nothing like skiing in tahoe. Ike being at Bach, and snow doesn't melt. I've never skiied anywhere, like it
September 11th, 2016 at 12:22 PM ^
Bach was a great composer.
September 11th, 2016 at 3:18 PM ^
is a great Bach.

Is that Peyton Manning's mom? They have the same forehead.
September 11th, 2016 at 12:59 PM ^
Eisenhower enjoyed his concerts too.
September 11th, 2016 at 4:18 PM ^
Snowboarding is much much better in Colorado though. The runs in park city are way too flat
September 11th, 2016 at 10:43 AM ^
They blew out two teams who are not good. They are apparently uptempo. But a Colorado fan told me not to actually worry.

Was this while you were playing Counterstrike?

I see what you did there
September 11th, 2016 at 10:45 AM ^
Nobody knows how good any team really is this early, with the possible exceptions of the Houstons and FSUs of the world. Would be kind of cool if we beat up on them and they made some noise in the P12 this year though. Who knows.
September 11th, 2016 at 4:37 PM ^
including giving up 80 to UNLV.
We don't know how good they are, but I don't think that's the best way to prepare for facing Michigan.
September 11th, 2016 at 10:46 AM ^
think they are pretty good. I think we will win the game, but I think they will play inspired and I think it will take us a minute to adjust to playing an actual team. Put it this way, I think the game will still be a game at half time.
September 11th, 2016 at 11:42 AM ^
It'd be nice if Taco and Lewis are back for this game.

Better than they have been. Probably still not good. But hopefully gets a P5 bowl team on our non-conference schedule.

I wore my hat like that back in the day. I would look to apologize for the damage I did to the world of fashion. Sorry.

This is the first post that made me wish I had enough points to upvote.

Their other wins were against Umass, CSU, and Nichols State. They were beat handily against other Pac 12 teams. I think they've improved from last season, but I doubt we have anything to really fear with them doing the travelling.
September 11th, 2016 at 10:51 AM ^
Not playing them last year though.

but at best, they'll finish in the middle of the Pac 12.
September 11th, 2016 at 11:38 AM ^
They actually were very competitive against Arizona (7 point loss), UCLA (4 point loss), USC (3 point loss), and Utah (6 point loss).
September 11th, 2016 at 1:11 PM ^
Since they run up-tempo with a mobile QB, I think the UCF game was an excellent tune-up. If we can contain the edges better and keep their QB in the pocket, I think we'll be up 20+ at halftime again.
September 11th, 2016 at 12:00 PM ^
I think Colorado will be a bowl team this year. 6 wins. They go 4-5 in the PAC 12.
They probably beat both Arizona schools (especially U of A), Oregon State again and Washington State. But I think it's more likely they lose one of those 4, but upset one of the mediocre Los Angeles teams.
So they will definitely be a tougher opponent than Rutgers, and Illinois as well.
I'd put them about equal or slightly above Maryland in terms of difficulty
September 11th, 2016 at 1:34 PM ^
where the state of Nichols is? Is it a place, a condition or an actual college that we need a roadmap to find? I hear they almost beat Georgia yesterday, so they must have a pretty good football players in their state.
September 11th, 2016 at 1:50 PM ^
Not far from the State of Ferris, IIRC.

Loosianna.

About 45 minutes west of New Orleans. The campus is the home of the Peyon Manning Passing Academy.
September 11th, 2016 at 10:50 AM ^
I expect a 40-20 type score for the good guys next week. But just in case, rush 4, and knock it down!
September 11th, 2016 at 11:17 AM ^
and don't put slow-footed inside LBs on the field when it's obvious the only thing the opponent will do is heave the ball into the end zone.
September 11th, 2016 at 10:50 AM ^
I hope Colorado is better than we anticipated and gives UM some competition. It wouldn't hurt this team to be tested before PSU and Wisky come calling.
September 11th, 2016 at 11:04 AM ^
That statement assumes PSU is a test. I agree Wisconsin will be, but Ped State? I'm not sold that they're any good at all.

I'm not sold on PSU either but it's the B1G opener and I expect the Lions to put up a fight
September 11th, 2016 at 11:18 AM ^
get outcoached, as will most of our opponents this year.
September 11th, 2016 at 11:31 AM ^
Couldn't agree more
September 11th, 2016 at 12:01 PM ^
With two exceptions. Unfortunately, those two exceptions are the most important two games.
September 12th, 2016 at 11:16 AM ^
Not sold on PSU at all either, but it always seems to be a tight game. Plus, Saquon Barkley...
