I swear I saw a thread on this earlier. I just can't find it. Oh well. I actually hate that the wave is considered a tradition. It's not original or local to just Michigan.

"Hail to the Victors" is not our fight song, "The Victors" is. And the extra seat thing, he mixed up too. Crisler came after Yost, so the seat was created by Crisler and is for Yost. Or, as this article contends, the seat is for Amos Alonzo Stagg, Chicago's coach and Crisler's mentor. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1075613/1/in… I would say guarding the "M" on the diag is stretching it too, considering how we do that once a year and it's a small minority of people, not a ton of them. We don't really have "traditions" such as the other schools do, I guess. Ours are different a more subtle. A Michigan Spirit, if you will, that permeates the stadium every Saturday afternoon... That and as he mentioned in the preface, winning.

Somnolent crowds sitting on their hands with the only noise you hear courtesy of the banner-towing airplanes droning in endless circles around the stadium.

I thought Michigan did not have any traditions because of Rich Rod..... Liked this piece, the best part was the Victors Walk that some coach brought back.. Oh, the guy that has no sense of being a Michigan Man. GET OFF RICH RODRIGUEZ'S BACK he will return this program back to it's winning ways.
