It's Game Day / Can't sleep thread

Submitted by GoWings2008 on
There's a very loud thunderstorm close to where I live at the moment. One lightening strike was so close that it set off the security alarm. Curious to see what everyone is looking forward to seeing once game time is here. I'm looking forward to seeing Evans pick up where he left off last week.

Dinner service and am headed home in the chi. Can't wait for an actual Saturday and Sunday off for once! Will very much enjoy this beat down tomorrow. Pulling the cable box and tv outside and sitting there all day!

Was interning during my MBA program, loved the direction of the company and my ability to be part of the future that I decided to defer graduation and stay out here!

For those curious, it's a good place to be - kind of a gateway to other ASEAN countries. Solid English language ability among most Thais in business. Good expat community also (of which I'm a part of). Most people I meet for the first time are always really friendly and willing to help out, share info, etc. I've only been here three months yet happy to share what little info I know if you're ever out here/interested.

Though seems it redirects to goatd (dot) net. You can stream ESPN from there as well as a few other channels. There are specific links for games (EPL, Bundesliga, etc.) and there will be links to NCAAF games as well. Reliability comes into question a bit, yet the success rate is decent enough. With UM trending up (#HARBAUGH), I would guess some of the links would be better since there will be more aborad trying to view the games, or so I'd like to think!

Some friends coming over early for beignets and cafe au lait (New Orleans style) and then another group over for the game. Then a bachelor party tomorrow night. Damn I wish I could get some sleep...

Here is an article that verifies what you are talking about: http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/18/health/otc-anticholinergic-drugs-dementia/index.html

This is a pdf cited in the above link that lists the types of drugs that are possibly linked (ABC score 1), and those that are definitely linked (ABC score of either 2 or 3) to early onset dementia. Benadryl is not a 1 or a 2, but a 3; this obviously makes it one of the worst drugs to take in relation to early onset dementia.

So glad I can look forward to games again. There was a period where I would cringe thinking about watching this team get torched every weekend. Let's toast to never having to experience anything like 2007-2014 again (sorry 2011, but even you were pretty stressful).

Woke up to a clap of thunder. Said thunder woke up 16 month old. 16 month old now sleeping. Dad is still awake wondering if it is worth going back to sleep before friends arrive in 2.5 hours to head to AA to tailgate. I think it is time for the coffee and some shitty late night HBO movies

Your line "Woke up to a clap of thunder" made me think of the Bob Seger song "Night Moves," specifically:

I awoke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves...

And now it's in my head.

But it's not a bad song to have in my head.

One thing is night moves thank you for that and I am sure there are a few others who may thank you for that......But the second thing is I have always had visions of 27th avenue and Camelback when I see your posts, this time I am wondering are you in AZ because I believe it is like 3:00 am there amitite?

Actually, I'm in West Virginia this summer and fall.  But normally I live in Tucson.  The avatar picture was taken near "A Mountain" near Tucson.

(I'm in WV minding the property my wife inherited from her mother back in 2014.  It sat empty for over a year, and people started nosing around, thinking nobody lived here.  Well, somebody lives here now.)

I wonder if we have MGoBloggers from all 50 states ...

in the peace and quiet of the early morning hours. Suppose I could open the patio doors to hear some wildlife on the lake, but for now the quiet is good. It dawned on me last week that I no longer have to watch reruns of Michigan Football from the good ole' days, you know when we were winning. I admit, I have been doing that for about the last 8 years. Never missed a single game Michigan game during our downtime. Took all of the ribbing from family or I should say half of the family. The other half of us are now dishing it out, pointing out to them that Michigan played everyone but the Cheerleaders in the game. State didn't look so great and the Buckeye's well did they even play 2nd or 3rd string during the game to throttle their opponent?

I think we all know how what happens when you rely on 1 to 3 player's to win it all, Buckeye's up by 60 and I just don't recall them putting in a 2nd or 3rd string QB? I didn't watch the game but I did see the highlight's. I would just like to say I am so hyped for Michigan Football this year and the future.

Sorry, bored and caffeine on Game Day! Go Blue!!

I work at University Hospital, been here since 7pm, don't leave until until 7:30, and I have to be in Monroe for a CPR class at 8:30. But whatever, IT'S GAMEDAY!

The game will be starting here at 7PM, so a full day of work yet to still be done before the game starts. AFN won't be carrying the game today, so I will just you all and ESPN's gametracker to monitor the game.

Have a great day. That sucks about AFN not playing the game, they just don't get it. They must know the Wolverines are playing today. I guess we have to be playing ND or OSU or nobody cares. I hate to say anything good about ESPN (the SEC apologists that they are) but credit where credit you know. Anyway Thanks again for your service and keep your head down. Alert Alive from AA.

Thanks, so far it has been great day, it's only 107 today and it is slowly cooling down.

Yeah...I'm not a big fan of ESPN either, but the blog combined with their gametracking, paints me a good picture of what is going on. So I will use them where I can.

I'll definitely keep my head down though, thank you for your support.
