Big Ten Tournament question
Now that we're down to the end of the season, any idea who we play in the first round of the Big Ten tournament next week? I promised my son he could play hooky on Friday if we make it to the quarterfinals, and we could drive to Indianapolis from Chicago. What do you all think about our chances?
You're an awesome mom.
It looks like we'll be the 8th seed and probably play Iowa in the first round. Top 5 teams have a bye. We're all but guaranteed to face one of the bottom feeders in our first game (Iowa, Indiana, and Penn State).

Right now we would have the 8/9 matchup with Iowa followed by a game against the #1 seed.
In fact, even if we win one and lose to MSU, I don't think we'll get the 7 seed because I would think NW would have the tie-break. And Indiana and PSU can't catch us... so we'll be in the 8/9 game. Which means a win will get us Ohio State on Friday if OSU beats Illinois in their season finale and wins the league outright.
Also, the 8/9 game on Thursday is at 2:30. The 8/9 winner vs. #1 is Friday at noon.

Does anyone know about tickets? Can I just find them when I get there?
Why would you subject your son to the disaster that is this year's Michigan basketball team? Instead you should show him highlights of the 1997 football game against Ohio State. Don't punish the boy.
He lived through this year's Northwestern game at Northwestern, sitting right behind the bench, and still wants more. He is a true fan! Plus, roadtrips are excellent!
and there were plenty of scalpers on the streets selling tix. I got mine for free from work, so I don't know how much they were going for. I know there were quite a few open seats during the games I attended so I wouldn't think tickets would cost too much.
to adopt another son? Perhaps one in his mid-thirties?
Our chances to win the tournament are about equal to the Lions ever winning a Super Bowl.
Considering the Lions are currently loaded with young talent fresh from some great drafts and great off-season moves I'd say the lions will win the superbowl in the next 5 years. So I think the chances of UM winning the b10 tourney are much less.
Sincerely,
Matt Millen.
At first I thought you were serious and was going to make fun of you.
Then I read the "Sincerely, Matt Millen" and decided to +1 you.
I wish I could get my parents to let me skip school and go there to see Michigan play.
