Cool graph

Submitted by Anonymous Coward (not verified) on

With all of the craziness of the weekend I couldnt remember if you guys had posted this or not but a friend brought in the print edition to work today.

Of the 13 teams in the prestigious right upper quadrant, five are from the Big 10 and four are from the Pac 12. Texas is of course representing the Big 12 and most notably the SEC is represented by only 1 team-Florida. For those of us who love the Big 10 it certainly leaves us with a great feeling.

To get to the article, type "College Football Grid of Shame" as a google search and pick the 2nd search item and you can then view the graph.

They cover for rapists and thugs on their teams, the prosecutor doesn't take the case, media doesn't talk about it...

For a start.

edit: but that's only half of that part of the graph, and I have no idea whatsoever how they reached that conclusion unless they just checked the final score. That's probably it.

Why the hell is Rutgers in the BIG?

The graph shows that 12 of 14 BIG schools are on the "admirable" side of the graph (of a total of only 29 in the country - not bad). For obvious reasons PSU is well below.

Rutgers is just an embarrassment.

I do a lot of writing at work and most of it is boring / technical / legal BS without much room for creative language or phrasing.  So I try to get that out of my system here.

I'm still trying to figure out a way to work "until we beat OSU and MSU" into a work document.  I may just randomly insert it into something to see if anyone notices.

Now I am intrigued by what sort of graph YOU thought it was quite honestly. There has to be a story behind the association too that must be equally intriguing. I would have expected the math teached to be tuned in, but maybe not so much a toxicologist.

Unless that's a joke, of course, in which case, well done and never mind, of course.

Go Buckeyes, FWIW your point is well-taken.  The "How Harbaugh is Your Team" graph is pretty hard on Michigan, putting us far to the left on the "Powerhouse" axis.  In fact, whoever cobbled this together put the block M on the "Weakling" side of the x axis, which ... what?

That is to say, I get your point, and so do many others here.  Can't quite figure out the negs, other than your user name and horrible choice of teams to support.
