Potential Injuries

Submitted by MGoStrength on

Boy, it's looks like there have been quite a few potential injuries for major contributors.  Mone, Charlton, and Hurst have all been out.  Also, Lewis is not playing.  McCray was also holding either his hand or his groin, but played through it.  And, Smith came out with a possible rib injury.  Anyone have any injury information on these key contributors?

Not sure I'd read too much into guys sitting out, given the situation they are going to be super cautious and quick to sit players down if they have eve minor dings.

The only way that looked really serious was Charlton (didn't see Mone's) and he walked off on his own. I'd say we can rest these guys for the rest of the day.

No point in risking any further injuries.

It's really hard to tell how serious it is, since the game was a sure thing from the gun. It was suggested that guys like Hurst and Lewis could play if the game was more serious. Perhaps that's what's up with Taco (who was walking) and Mone, too.

But it's hard to say. Even things that seem "minor" when reported can wind up being more serious. See, for example, Caris Levert's injury this past basketball season.

Given how the game has gone, the major takeaway from this game will be injruies incurred or avoided.

Charlton's looked really bad (got rolled up, leg bent back awkwardly). However, the fact that he limped off is very promising. I was already cursing the Football Gods when I saw the replay of him buckling. We already paid the price with Mario & Mone last year. Leave our DL alone.

just said on radio halftime show he thinks Taco had his ankle rolled and will be held out rest of game, but should be fine.  Wish I knew more about Mone.

Beat up from pushing hard today without any rest from a really intense camp. Sometimes getting a little time off during an injury can help glycogen levels later in the season for those guys when it counts. I'm optimistic.

It looked like Mone limped badly to the sideline and had to be helped to the locker room.  Looked like an ankle.  Not good.

Braden and Johnson have also not plaid. Braden was rumored before hand by UMBig11 but said it wasn't anything serious. Johnson someone said may be a bit longer.

All in all, it seems like most aren't anything major/important players except Charlton and Mone. If the news about Charlton is true it shouldn't be too major. Mone is a question mark though, that's a little concerning.
