Their student section is a disgrace. To steal our cheers, they'd have to actually, you know...cheer. Outside of the post ND goal seive chants they didnt say a word. The "Goooo Irish" (by the men), "Beat the Wolverines" (by the women) chants is the band, as was just about every other time something was said. Seemed like the students showed up to do two things: the seive chant and that upper-cut dance thing they do at football games. Every time I looked over there, it was arms crossed and mouths closed even while winning. 1:05- "How much" 1:04- "time is 1:03- "remaining in" 1:02- "the period" Announcer, "One minute" "Thank you" I'm not sure I'd call that copying because our students, and many other student sections, understand 5 seconds = 5 syllables. Kudos to the ND band though. I liked that the music on the PA system meant nothing to them, they just played over it. Even my wife turned to me and said, "God this music after EVERY stoppage is annoying."

Does this remind anybody of the goal line stand by Illinois? That changed the entire game and it was all down hill from there. That "no goal" call has certainly changed things around.

Reggie Dunlop: It's their rink, it's their ice, and it's their fuckin' town. But tonight we got our fans with us! [other players cheer] Reggie Dunlop: They spent their own dough to get here, and they came here to see us! All right, let's show 'em what we got, guys! Get out there on the ice and let 'em know you're there. Get that fuckin' stick in their side. Let 'em know you're there! Get that lumber in his teeth. Let 'em know you're there! Ned Braden: Bleed all over 'em. Let 'em know you're there. Reggie Dunlop: Give 'em a good warm-up, Denis. Come on, fellas!

I've had enough. I realize its largely our fault we're down 4-2, but this shouldn't be an issue. We should have gone up 3-0 and I doubt they'd have 4 if we had gotten that goal. If the Big Ten is capable of getting half-competent refs, I'm all for it, because I'm sick of this. We are probably going to lose this game primarily because of how much the CCHA's reffing and quite frankly their review rules in general suck. As long as they do it right, bring on the Big Ten. I'm sick of sucking like we have this year, but I'm also sick of losing games off inexcusable calls. This might be the second year in a row they rip us out of a win on ND.

Sure, we're not playing great, but that doesn't excuse that they're getting help. The goal, that call on Langlis that also got an embellishment, even the high sticking we just got looked shaky. When does the crap stop? When are we going to lose a game we really need to win without help from the zebras? This is by no means exclusive to us and by no means limited to this game or this year. We got screwed out of a goal in the AF game last year when they blew the whistle while Cappy was shooting at a wide open net for, via lip-reading "I lost the puck". We lost a game to OSU and ND last year because we got a goal incorrectly called back AND the other team got away with a blatant kick-in. You can blame the camera restrictions all you want, but as clear as those were, they had NO business thinking they were goals in the first place. I sat almost straight on the blue line at Yost this year, and I can't even begin to count how many offsides have been ROYALLY blown this year, for and against us, calls and non-calls.
