Hrm, indeed.

Looks nice...Don't have any strong feelings either way
September 1st, 2016 at 2:17 PM ^
Pretty much my thoughts exactly
September 1st, 2016 at 2:14 PM ^
That's... an interesting choice.
September 1st, 2016 at 2:15 PM ^
Looks like it's a smaller font size and too close to the word "Ice". And if this was not a mistake, they should redo it so the text is uniform. Right now, it looks like a mistake.

The arena is the place where they serve Yostice.
It's served cold.

Who is 3E and why are they letting us play at their arena?

I get that both sides get to see the sigma, but what does it mean?
September 1st, 2016 at 2:17 PM ^
Not a big fan. The Michigan Medicine advertisement block M is nearly as big.
September 1st, 2016 at 5:03 PM ^
This. If the ads aren't there, it'd be totally fine. But as it is, it's just another logo on the ice.
September 1st, 2016 at 2:18 PM ^
Not a fan of this look...

The Block M was great and looked very professional. This looks like ehh. Someone trying to make it look better, but it just didn't work out. Please change back.
September 1st, 2016 at 2:23 PM ^
Too busy IMO. Prefer the block M.
September 1st, 2016 at 2:25 PM ^
Since: 1. I'm a big Michigan Hockey fan, and I'm attached to Yost; 2. I love the Block M on principle...
I feel like I should have a strong opinion about this. Love it or hate it. We all do, you know? It's supposed to be a big deal.
I liked the old block M logo.
I don't mind this, at least not yet. It doesn't bother me. It doesn't excite me. And I'm not apathetic about it, either. It's a total lateral move.
September 1st, 2016 at 2:45 PM ^
You neither like it nor dislike it, and you're also not aphathetic about it?
September 1st, 2016 at 2:31 PM ^
I'll use this thread as my platform to plead the Athletic Department to PAINT THE ENDZONES LIKE THE ROSE BOWL!
September 1st, 2016 at 2:39 PM ^
You want one endzone to to be painted with Texas? Odd.

Where will all the Arby's logos go, and what about that sweet dancing Curly Fries mascot?

With two block M's, I thought they were looking to eliminate the problem of half of the rink having to look at upside down script. but then script in the circle around center ice is only naturally readable to the non-press-box side. I'm ambivalent as to any of the concepts, but mixing these elements makes it confusing to figure out what they were going for.
Edit: all the advertisements are the same. My OCD is tripping out here.
My conclusion, don't like it for the above reasons. Block M brings the necessary consistency. That or flip the advertisements on the bench side of the rink and have the text in the circle around center ice run in the same direction (readable from center ice facing out, or from outside the rink facing in).
September 1st, 2016 at 3:22 PM ^
With the block M aren't the people on the other side looking at a W?
September 1st, 2016 at 4:05 PM ^
September 1st, 2016 at 4:52 PM ^
Yes, but it is consistent with the rest of the paint. I don't have a problem with no big block M if the rest of the paint is done in a non-conflicting way.

So when are they going to get rid of Adidas on the boards?
September 1st, 2016 at 2:56 PM ^
Previously looked like:
I prefer big M with skinny circle, but the new one is not going to prevent me from enjoying games.
September 1st, 2016 at 9:23 PM ^
Too much red on a Michigan playing surface. But now I see the Flagstar was red before. Somehow the prominence of the big block M and the maize Health System block M makes the red less noticeable. (Trying to avoid the ad hate discussion to focus on the red. Which unfortunately makes the ads even more blatant.)
September 1st, 2016 at 3:15 PM ^
If we're being honest, they probably could have completely removed those stands and half the ones on the home side and still not be able to fill it with everyone that shows up.
September 1st, 2016 at 5:06 PM ^
Champions are built there. Right. There.
September 1st, 2016 at 3:06 PM ^
personally, i prefer corporate logos to be smaller than the school's logo/emblem/insignia/etc.
that said, this will not preclude me from attending hockey games, so "hrm...." it is
September 1st, 2016 at 3:17 PM ^
I don't mind the Center Ice redo, just wish they'd get rid of the Meijer and Coke ads under the ice.
September 1st, 2016 at 3:19 PM ^
I think it looks sharp.
September 1st, 2016 at 3:27 PM ^
The logos facing the end zones instead of the sidelines seem strange to me, although I know there are a few NHL teams (e.g., Montreal and Philadelphia) who do that. It doesn't really look right to me, and I think it will look "wrong" on television.
But like most other people, this isn't really a strong opinion.
September 1st, 2016 at 4:05 PM ^
Love the navy ring, not a fan of 2 logos facing the endzones...but meh, don't care enough to even follow up on this post once I hit save.
September 1st, 2016 at 4:06 PM ^
Not on the level of "yelling at the clouds" do no like, but I don't really understand the change. Looks like a change for the sake of making a change, which tend to be annoying at best.
September 1st, 2016 at 7:10 PM ^
Looks to congested and we should never use the block M in blue.. This looks like crap and so does the center court at Crisler.
September 1st, 2016 at 7:13 PM ^
How many other things use "Wolverines" branding? I feel like I pretty much never see the word and don't identify with it at all, honestly.
