OT: Sports Riddles
Well, with the CFB season about to start in the next 24 hours, I thought we could finish it off with some sports-related riddles. Here they are, and good luck!
1. I am going on a trip. I start in Ralston, NE and stay one night. Don't like it much. I then go to Pittsburgh. I don't like it that much. I travel to Tallahassee. I like it so much, I stay there 4 nights. Then, I decide to head back to Ralston. I finally end my trip in Salt Lake City. Where am I?
2. I am going on another trip. I start my vacation off right in Washington D.C. I spend 4 nights in Washington D.C. Then, I head to Lincoln, NE. Then I take a long journey to Valdez, AK. I stay in Valdez for 2 nights. I head back to the east coast where I party it up in Raleigh, NC. I stay in Raleigh for 3 nights. I go north to New York, where I stay 2 nights. FInally, I end my amazing trip in San Diego. Where am I?
3. Two baseball teams played a game. No man touched a base, but one team won. How is this possible?
4. My first is in Kendo, but not Olympics. My second is in hurdles and hunting. My third is in bowman and bowling. My fourth is in cycling and golf. My fifth is in flying, but not swimming. My sixth is in running, but not dancing. My whole is a sport. What am I?
5. 3 brothers were playing football when they kicked a threw a ball that broke their neighbor's window. The neighbor saw them run away, but didn't see who threw it. Their names were Sam Smith, Mark Smith, and Alan Smith. The next day, the neighbor received a note that said "? Smith". Who did it?

Maybe the two baseball teams were playing a sport other than baseball. Lots of possibilities on this one.

The answer to 1&2 are the same. Your house, presumably. Your trips are in the future.

Doesn't count since I knew how to do the first two. Blew my mind when I learned. My dad would give the riddle to me and I'd never get it and of course there would always be some grand prize if I could.

Care to explain? You already gave us the answers, might as well tell us how you got them.
August 31st, 2016 at 9:26 PM ^
I'll let Gil do it. I don't want to ruin the fun on his riddles.

Even with the answers it's really hard to back into it. Some clues would be sports team names and codes (eg a thing = a different thing)

You take the first letter of each city, simple enough. the fun part is in the Vowels. Each vowel = a night
1 night= a
2 nights= e
3 nights= i
4 nights= o
5 nights= u
So you put the consonants and vowels together for #1 and get raptors- which are located in toronto. #2 spells out wolverines- and they are located in Ann Arbor. Hence the sports connection!

I mean, by that standard this would be a riddle:
qwgerotyfuiuopcaskdfyghojkulzrxcsvbenmlqwf
The answer is every 3rd letter. If you didn't catch it the first time you're not clever.
August 31st, 2016 at 10:11 PM ^
at least you can do this better than rutgers can.
August 31st, 2016 at 10:45 PM ^
Well that's just rude.
August 31st, 2016 at 11:06 PM ^
It shouldn't have surprized me, but I started laughing half way through your "riddle".
September 1st, 2016 at 4:31 AM ^
Whew.. I am clever!!

A secret code
September 1st, 2016 at 9:29 AM ^
That's just awful.
August 31st, 2016 at 9:20 PM ^
1&2 are bullshit. My answer is valid (still at the house cuz you haven't left yet as you "are going" on the trip, implying it's in the future) There are multiple valid answers to 3. Also, 5...the note just says to question mark smith, not that he did it.

What if you're homeless? You can still say you're going on a trip. I get your point though. The really question is WHEN am I?!

"What if you're homeless?"
Well now we have to get into a philosophical debate as to what a home really is...
August 31st, 2016 at 9:42 PM ^
your answer was much better than some CIA code nobody could ever figure out.
August 31st, 2016 at 11:32 PM ^
That "riddle" was just a cover for the long con:
Gil From Omaha is really mgokev. You see, if you take the "m" from Omaha, the "G" from Gil, and the "O" from Omaha, you get "mgo". And as everyone knows, Gil's nickname is really "kev", therefore Gil posed some "riddles" that only he knew the answers to, to build our confidence up in his intelligence in order to pull another RollDamnTide ruse. What do I win?
August 31st, 2016 at 9:53 PM ^
nicely done. I would've never gotten that 4th one.
August 31st, 2016 at 9:07 PM ^
4 - A parent

6) Suck it, Gil?
August 31st, 2016 at 9:12 PM ^
Left home. Made three left turns and arrived at home. See two guys with masks. Who are they?
Might be too easy given topic.

Probably MSU football players. Run! They have a match and gasoline!
