not only when does it start. but for people who have previously went, what would be a good time to be in ann arbor. cuz it would be awesome if i could get near the first few rows of seats. when does everyone start piling in?

As a student we had a more tame version on a fall saturday but it was still really, really, really fun. I think this is mainly due to the fact that only real friends and real fans were going hard on spring game day providing for a generally duesche-bag free day. I got there and remember having my choice of seats so I don't think you need to get there crazy early but for the best seats in the house I'd say an hour or so before game time you should be fine.

I believe it starts at noon, with probably other events earlier. Timing-wise, give yourself a good window. Last year I had some stuff to do the morning of and was really pushing it. Got there in time, but parking wasn't easy, etc. It's like a (mini) football game. If you want to be near the first few rows of seats I'd suggest getting into town about 8-9 at the latest. Can't vouch for that getting you amazing seats, but in my estimation that'd be reasonable. FYI people were in line for the locker room tour last year before 7 am.

If you want the best seats are generally considered row 30 to 50. Too low and you get bad viewing angles and can't see the whole field. That being said for the spring game, I supposed you would have a better chance at talking with people on the field if you were in the first row. Last year we got there as the flag football game was starting and got great seats about 40 rows up near the 40 yard line.

The spring game was such a blast last year that I will now attend every year that I am alive (as long as they let people come, anyways). Get there early enough to tailgate - Last year I drank and ate for a couple hours and got in the staduim about 10:30. There were all kinds of bad ass seats still available, and I was surprised at how the game had a real sensation to it. You could feel some electricity in the air, and this is a great tool for recruiting. The new frosh also get a chance to play in front of a smaller crowd before having to face 111.000 at the beginning of the season.

More people are showing up for this without the typical game traffic control. This is a great opportunity to practice your tailgating for the Fall season.
