Impressive list. I had no idea there were that many.
What about Charlie White and Meryl Davis?
Ooops nevermind...
Here's a few photos Bora Gulari sent back:
I'm digging the Imported from Detroit t-shirt. Always represent the D! Also, from a distance, you can't see all the toxic garbage/human waste floating in the water.
Arguably the greatest athlete of all time (greatest olympic athlete anyway) is a Michigan alum. Who's got it better than us?
If you are talking about Phelps, no, he isn't an alum. He came to Ann Arbor to train but never represented Michigan and only took classes because he had to in order to train with the team.
That is a damn impressive amount of athletes!
In case you haven't seen this yet- this was in my AAUM letter a couple of weeks ago:

Let's cheer on the Wolverine family at the Olympics! Along with the many others!
Also check out Amanda Elmore in the Sports Illustrated Rio Olympics Edition this week!
There was a list today and UofM wasn't included, judging by this list they should have been. Any idea why not?
Not sure about the list you saw but here is a summary of 25 of UM's greatest Olympians of all time:

There was a list on US News taking about colleges with the most athletes and Michigan wasn't listed. Judging by this list they should have been. Anybody know why not?
No, but somebody better get to the bottom of this right away because if we belong on a list and we weren't then some heads had better roll.

A hearty chuckle had here - thank you LOL
Impressive list. I had no idea there were this many.
Phelps was a student in addition to bring a volunteer coach! He wasn pursuing a degree, but did take a couple of classes to pass time.
He also ate a lot of omlettes and pancakes at Benny's.

Michigan had a sailing team. Go Blue and Go USA!
It was a club sport. There were a lot of good sailers though, some went on to compete at various levels after college. I knew Bora (sort of) through my roommates and he was obviously head amd shoulders above everyone else. The kind of sailing he does is closer to trapeze circus act than the traditional dinghy sailing most people are familiar with.
