OT: what movie would actually be worth seeing with a live-performed soundtrack
I saw The Fellowship with an orchestra performing the soundtrack live, it was awesome.
How do I go about seeing hearing this?
Pulp Fiction -- interesting choice ... and a challenge for an orchestra, given the score of Pulp Fiction.

Oh, hell yeah--Judgement Night has a killer soundtrack. Particularly loved the Sonic Youth/Cypress Hill pairing, with Sir Mix-a-Lot/Mudhoney as a close second. The soundtrack is better than the film, which is a good watch mostly for Dennis Leary's turn as a murderous but funny gangbanger (yeah, you read that right).
Here in the UK you can watch Gladiator with a live orchestra playing, meant to be very good but also expensive.

Debbie Does Dallas?
I have the soundtrack at home and it always pumps me up.
I actually had the experience of seeing Koyasnisqatsi with a live orchestra at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor ~25 years ago. Amazing experience. The music was such an intergral part of the film.

Also, any coming of age teen angst movie in the 80's.

Although I am not sure what is planned for the next iteration of the site (I don't remember hearing anything about drastic change or separation of forums like this), such a forum structure is definitely not supported by the current format and version of Drupal. I know there will be calls for this occasionally until we go back to non-OT mode (and we're going to experiment with better message distribution this time too), but for the time being, this particular question has been answered.
I like many of the OT subjects we have in the off-season.

Dark Knight and DK Rises. Those scores are my favorites.
Bonaphone, Sliphorn, Slushpump.
I probably should not have retired my Sackbutt.

Morricone directing the ochestra playing The Ecstacy of Gold is really fantastic.
