OT: worst actor or actress to ruin a role or movie.
And he played a disrespektful Mike Zuckerberg too!
I see what you did there.....
She didn't ruin the movie but Cameron Diaz's role in Gangs of New York was a crime against humanity.
I wouldn't have thought of this, but in hindsight I think she, or her writing, may have kept this movie from being an all time great.
she cost Daniel Day Lewis an Oscar
Bill "the butcher" is one of my favorite characters in any movie.
I thought The Counselor was a pretty great movie, buy casting Cameron Diaz in her role was a nightmarish choice. By the time she's doing her closing monologue I just want to rip my eyes out. So unconvincing and untalented as a serious actor.
The dolphin in Johnny Mnemonic was pretty bad.
Keanu Reeves was so bad in that movie I was dumbfounded.
Hayden Christensen - Anakin Skywalker
I mean, loser!
His unsuccessful and untalented attempt at playing Bob F'n Dylan in Factory Girl was an insult to the universe and existence in general.
Yep. Not sure if it was the actor or that George Lucas hasn't the first clue about romance and his writing was horrible. One or the other but those movies were nigh unwatchable thanks to the awkwardness of Christensen and Portman.
Don't put Natalie in the mix of awkwardness. I could watch her any day, any time. Especially Black Swan.
He's just a very bad actor and shouldn't be in any role that requires him to speak.
But Christensen takes the lion's share. He was awful and his acting can only be described as "wooden" and incapable of actually expressing emotion.
Honorable Star Wars mention should go to the kid that played a young Anakin. He helped (with Jar Jar) take down the movies before Christensen even got involved.
Together Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christiansen provided the worst back story ever.
Jake Lloyd reportedly has gone a little nutso, so maybe the universe agrees.
Jake Lloyd's dilemma is understandable. Imagine being that infamous that young.
Call me crazy but I've always thought Christopher Walken could have been a decent Annakin Skywalker in place of Hayden Christensen.
Skywalken :)
I used to think this, but since then I have seen him in a couple of other roles and I liked him.. I think that he was a victim of George Lucas's shitty writing. Same with Jake Lloyd, unfortunately.
Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. Freaking horrible casting

I know nothing about the Jack Reacher story or universe outside of that movie, but I liked Cruise in that role. The smug know-it-all action guy is his wheelhouse.
Haven't seen Jack Reacher but I agree. Where Cruise is a smug asshole in an action movie is the perfect role for him. I liked him in "Edge of Tomorrow", "Oblivion", and "Mission Impossible:Rogue Nation". Although maybe I liked the last one because of Rebecca Ferguson.

The problem is that Jack Reacher in the books is like 6'6", 260 lbs. His size is a part of every book and mentioned a lot.

I can see that complaint then. But, its also tough to see who could play that role. You're kinda limited to like The Rock and....1998 Arnold?
when he played the vampire LeStat. The character was over 6' and blond in the books. I couldn't accept him in the role (beyond it just being Tom Cruise).
Cruise bought the rights so he could cast himself as Reacher. No one else would be stupid enough to believe that he would be at all credible in the role.
I knew Clint Eastwood. Tom Cruise is no Clint Eastwood.
exactly.
too damn short
Ben affleck in just about anything.

in Dazed and Confused.
He was awesome in boiler room

He was the bomb in phantoms
When they're not finding dead hookers in his trailer!
Wat?
He wasn't even with a hooker today!
Dazed and Confused, Good Will Hunting, Dogma (and other Kevin Smith movies), Argo, The Town, Gone Baby Gone. He might not be Paul Newman or Daniel Day-Lewis, or even a Ryan Gosling, but he's been in some good movies as an actor and has done arguably even better as a director.
I liked him in Gone Girl too. He played a good philandering and clueless husband. Must've done some good character research on that one...
He's gotten better over his career.
I thought that Ben Affleck was the only good thing that BvS had going for it. I thought he killed it as Batman/Bruce Wayne enough so where I'd rank him as my favorite Batman.
I actually agree with this. But when Ben Affleck is the best thing about your movie, you've got a serious problem.
He was great in clerks.

Dogma, also. I love that movie.
Woody vs the Clemson player
Chuck vs David Boston. 1997.
in anything.
He would have been great if they just let the dinosaurs eat him.
Repeatedly, South Park style.
You misread this. Not best. Worst.
You have obviously never seen Buckaroo Banzai. Goldblum is the perfect nerd in that flick.
I have to show my kids this movie. Thanks for the reminder.
