Wondering what everyone else thinks of RR's speech at the Victors Rally.

I'm always surprised at how visibly nervous he gets when he's publicly speaking. I kind of like that—I know people view it as a weakness, but it really just endears me more to him because he seems like a genuine human being. He's clearly much more confident in videos where he's simply explaining his football philosophy.

Best part is with the video can you play your favorite parts over and over again. Mine was when Rich said "I am a Michigan Man."

"Maybe [critics] have been piling on a little bit in these past two years, but you know what? Revenge is sweet. ... I can forgive, but I will never forget."

I think there was some good pep at that rally.

there are some that want to bash the guy for being emotional but I feel as though its a good thing. People lead in different ways. Lloyd was stoic and consistent, Bo was fiery and competitive, and I think RR has shown that he's passionate, hard working, and relentless. I really feel like he posted his stake in the ground and wanted it to be clear he's here for all the right reasons

He's a lover not a fighter... but he's also a fighter so don't get any ideas

Where's the video they showed at this event?! I'd like to see it.

My favorite part was when he said, "To hell with Notre Dame."

What a great man. Listen to what he says. The sincerity, the decency, the perspective. Is there a better spokesman for what Michigan Football is all about? I wish I knew him personally.

He really is a great guy. I know the team has struggled so far but once they get all the pieces in place watch out.

Rodriguez. It wouldn't bother me if it wasn't two years already he's been the coach.

for Michigan? I believe that man would take a bullet for this program.
If he asked me to try and take a hill, I do my dammedest to take the hill.
GO BLUE!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love Lloyd, but when he spoke, he kind of gave off the vibe that he was being bothered by holding a press conference. Rodriguez, on the other hand, looks like he wants to harness the passion and loyalty of the fans.

do you think he would hang 50 on Dantonio, Hope or Tressel if he can?
February 22nd, 2010 at 10:00 PM ^
I certainly hope so. I'd also be curious to see how the Freep spins it into something that questions his family values.

He wants to win and works hard to do so .. and when you have that combo eventually you will be successful
Its not good for me to watch stuff like this .. im about to put on my Wolverine gear and run my head into the wall .. I wish Mike Tyson would KO me and i would wake up right before opening day .. i cant handle the wait

I love it when his wife (at least he said she said), "You know what? I love it here, my family loves it here, and there's no place I'd rather be."
Awesome.

We have a really good thing going on here right now.
It will translate on the field soon enough.

I will be very angry if he isn't back after next year. It's really sad that that is my first thought but if there is enough pressure for Brandon to give him the axe I will be pissed. Rodriguez is a great coach and if someone else is coaching in 2011, they need to give him a ton of credit.
February 22nd, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
it's that he does what he thinks is right. He's got a Michigan athletic background. He's run a multi-billion dollar enterprise. He's been a Regent. I'm all in with this guy and if he decides we're better off moving on (unlikely I think) then I'm behind him. I feel for certain that Brandon will not bow to pressure and do something he does not feel is right.

like that rich rod he wont forget about all haters and calls himself and deserved a michigan man. And also Brandy showing that he has support in rich rod and the program that is expected in the future.

He spoke at the rally, too. Good talk. Great Michigan Man. He needs to be a coach at U-M ASAP.
