Are you kidding me Warde!?!?
We are slowly moving to an "all home/all away" schedule whereby we play 100% of our games on the road in even years and 100% of our games at home in the odd years.
Granted it will make selling season tickets in the even years challenging but just think of the competitive advantadge we'll gain in the odd years.
Radical but the vision is clear.
oh, now i see dave brandon was a genius all along to force 2 road games vs State and ND in a row
RIP BERT VS HARBAUGH
Edit -- looks like they just updated the News article. It originally stated the 2018 game was in Ann Arbor.
No it doesn't.
No fucking way.
Harbaugh wanted them on the schedule and I'm sure gave his blessing.
The buyout is nothing compared to the likely extra revenue from this game.
I would not be surprised to see Michigan and MSU switch back so the schedule is more balanced. Regardless, this deal would not be done without Harbaugh. I'm also fairly sure these discussions were going on before Manuel was brought in. There is no way Manuel acted on his own.
and we'll let them have two more home games in a row.
The fact of the matter is, we just got embarrased. Hard not to say we don't come out of this looking like ND's bitch. They get two home games in a row and we get a hard as hell schedule as a result. Our "reload" years are the home ones and our loaded years seem to be our away years. I am going to go on record saying that this will haunt us for years to come.
Warde comes off as super weak.
harbaugh wants to relive his glory days in the 80s and doesn't care how we look, or what we give up. The fans/customers were not consulted as usual, probably not the players either. As for manuel, he's in his ivory team echo chamber unaware how embarrassing this is. If he ever does open his emails, pretty soon he'll tell people stop drinking and go to bed...
Nobody outside Schembechler Hall's opinions matter.
I know it sucks to have the three rivalry games on the road, but what really pisses me off even more is that the series "ended" at ND and will now be "revived" at ND. At least start at home in 2019 instead of this garbage.
This is really stupid, bad move. Look at the current roster, 2017 will be a relative down year because we lose so many players after this season. But then 2018 stacks up to be an awesome team, except now they have to go on the road against all rivals and strong teams.
And this is AFTER Notre Dame ended the last series with a home game in an underhanded move. What is Warde thinking?
My going in negotiation position would be 2 homes to start, then we can alternate. Also, can we please play 2 in every 4 years instead of every single year? Would like some diversity of who we will play, with say Arkansas.
my opinion of having great teams is it's worthless if you can't go around the country showing them off and competing against the best teams, kind of like what USC did under carroll. With how we're going to be replacing cross country opponents from all 4 conferences with ND ND ND, this will now only happen if we make the playoff.
Not happy!!!
FUCK THAT

So ND, MSU and OSU away all in the same year? For some reason, that doesn't make sense to me.
But hey, at least Rutgers will be a home game that year.
Maybe some tough road games, but at least we get our #1 Rival at home! /s
If it is true, he no doubt got scheduling tips from David Brandon.
it's like how he took the worst of all lessons and ignored the good ones. Brandon at least scheduled a variety of P5 teams from all 4 conferences, so let's not insult brandon here
That just means we will beat them all on the road, and again at home in 2019.
Good luck selling season tickets for that year
As a season ticket holder, I feel like warde just violated me
2019 will be great though! Lol
Sounds like the year for a price raise.
well we had our first home game vs nebraska since like 1930 + ND + ohio state in 2011. You don't HAVE to include State and ND in there and sacrifice the even years entirely. Just get 2/3 and a rare quality opponent
Show us on the wallet were the bad man touched you.
Bring back Hackett!!!
More seriously though, this sucks chicken dicks.
Warde better have a good explanation for this. Like that MSU will be in Ann Arbor.
Move MSU to Ann Arbor? This sounds like a Dave Brandon idea.
More local pilots for skywriting...
Brings new meaning to keeping your enemies close.
Funny, I figured he would have checked the schedule before agreeing to this.
That 2018 home schedule is gonna be straight garbage, and with road games at ND, OSU, and MSU, that's gonna be a tough schedule. You lose Arkansas as a home game that year too. Yuck.
2018
Home vs Arkansas
@Notre Dame
Home vs SMU
Home vs Nebraska

Would honestly rather play Arkansas. SEC team at home is a rare, rare opportunity. Would've been a fun matchup. To give that up for a road game vs. Notre Dame....
It makes zero sense to drop an Arkansas home game to play ND on the road in 2018. This might be the dumbest move by an AD since Brandon hired Hoke.
for making it happen. Thanks Warde.
if Dave Brandon had to personally pay the $2 million?
Dave, I've got your "wow experience" right here.
pfft, at this rate i want dave brandon back. Let's start a gofundme for $2 mil to really drive home what a shit AD we've hired
Interesting. I'd always rather play ND - home or away - than some two-bit team like Arkansas.
As soon as I move to Little Rock...damnit!

The way this is shaking out, makes it look like Michigan really wanted the series back a lot more than ND did.
After the way the series ended, I'm over ND.
Especially now we have fewer non-conference games each season.
Especially since this puts all rivalry games on the road in 2018 (and possibly future seasons).
Especially since I'm into scheduling series with SEC teams, be they good or bad.
Suck it DB. Suck it Warde.
A complete joke. Is Warde actually a double agent working for Delany?
This is scheduling suicide. Hackett needs to be recalled!
harbaugh was behind this, be real. True, manuel is worthless if going to capitulate so easily, but not blaming the guy behind it just gives him carte blanche to cancel oklahoma/texas next
