Harbaugh summer vacation sweepstakes
So it's that time of year:
1) Recruiting dead period -- no more camps
2) Before the start of Fall practice
This means its family time for Coach! Last year he took the wife to Paris for a week of sightseeing and (presumably) romance. We should have a contest to guess where he shows up this year. Extrapolating from limited data:
1) He's not a sit on the beach type -- the man needs to keep busy on vacation. Likely an urban location.
2) Harbaugh is an innovator. He won't do the same thing twice. Europe is out as a repeat destination
3) The man is a student of history. He'll want to explore some place of signifigance.
4) The wife is preggers. Unlikely to go somewhere where the primary past time is drinking/partying.
My guess is that our beloved coach heads off to Israel to drink in the the Holy Sites. Where does the MgoCommunity think he ends up?
Armenian tavern just inside the Jaffa Gate is an amazing place to dine. No other place I would rather be than Jerusalem.
If Harbaugh's going to visit the Armenian Tavern, he might as well just visit the Armenian Quarter. Of course, I'm biased about this since I'm Armenian and my dad's side of the family lived in the AQ for decades.
Thought this was going to contain a link to a sweepstakes where you get to go on the satellite camp tour with Harbaugh next year.
Yah.. me too..
OP: I think you owe us a vacation for fucking up the title
I think he surveys a Tunisian ruin (presumably Carthage) prior to a tank battle vs. Rommel, and talks about his past lives fighting historical battles.
I think he'll take the family on a beach vacation and challenge them to a dive-off
James Joseph Harbaugh. There is a g, an s and a p in his name. GSP = George S Patton.
Space bitches!
I would guess somewhere in Asia. Lots of history in China and Japan for instance.
The beach is still in play if there is a family member to almost drown.
Maybe London to give the Brits a post-Brexit pep talk?
He's going to Turkmenistan, to the Door to Hell, where he will personally defeat Ba'al in hand to hand combat.
I just pray that he returns home safely if and when he travels, especially if you are correct in your prediction.
book it.
He's going to build a new UM research station in Antartica while the misses is all bundled up nice and warm in an igloo.
Whitefish Bay, where he will swim to the Lake Superior floor and raise the Edmund Fitzgerald with his bare hands.
Detroit
Put me down for him playing at Pebble Beach the weekend of July 23rd, seriously.
Europe is one place??? St. Petersburg and Lisbon are interchangeable, I guess.

By the way, I choose Lhasa for a round table on the infinite wisdom.

Lhasa is a very cool city- so much history and geopolitical issues vis-a-vis Tibetan independence. Definitely check it out if that sort of stuff interests you. Plus, at an altitude of 13,000 feet, you don't have to worry about Zika!
Lisbon is such a cool city. I'm a little biased being from there and all. Highly recommend it as a friendly, historic and surprisingly affordable corner of Europe with fantastic food and great weather. Ok, done with my ad.

I live in London and travel to Lisbon every so often. Absolutely one of my favourite places.

I'm with you. Visitiing Paris doesn't get you a tick in the "Europe" box.
That would be like visiting Columbus and then checking the "College Tailgates" box.
Tailgating in Madison isn't the same as Ann Arbor. And SEC tailgates aren't the same as the Big 10. At a miniimum you'd have to tailgate at 1 school from each conference to tick the box.
(OK, maybe not a great analogy but I really really miss football!)
My Power 5 for a vacation in Europe:
- London
- Brugges
- Rome
- St Petersburg
- Krakow
Jimmy - If you're reading this I am available as a guide and/or travel agent!
If it's season, and although it's been ovr 40 years, I think it is. He'll be heading to Sydney and see the S. Sydney Rabbitohs.
but you HAVE to include a visit/passage through the Swiss Alps if you're checking Europe boxes.
Vatican City
My pick is China. He'll tour the Great Wall for defensive inspiration.
is that he leaves Earth and becomes the first human to walk on the surface of Mars...because Harbaugh.
Antarctica, and he'll offer a penguin or two for 2019.
He's obviously going to scout Leapard Seals.
...and maybe get in a little fishing
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure one of his destinations will be Peru again. I think he does an annual mission with his church to the same place down there every year. Under the Peruball Lights II.
Then he'll go somewhere different for a more private/tourist type vacation.

He'll just happen to bump into Obinna Eze's mom while seeing the sights. Small world.
"I just pray that he returns home safely if and when he travels, especially if you are correct in your prediction. "
I second that ^^^
He heard Brazil was having some trouble getting this whole Olympics thing together, so he will fly down to Rio and coach them up.
The man who saved the Summer Olympics.
...nothing to see here... carry on
Hawaii Fiji Australia New Zealand area
That his wife is pregnant, I'd be really surprised if they go anywhere near Central and South America.
He will buy a cottage in NW Michigan. TC, Charlevoix, Leland? If you read John U Bacon's book you know he has friends in that area. With that many kids he needs an up north compound.
The family can water ski in Lake Michigan
while he's looking.
No Peru?
We already know he's going there. He went to Peru and Paris last year.
Chicago - plenty of stairs for the family to climb
Pregnant wife probably eliminates Brazil. So I'd say either an outback adventure down under or perhaps and african safari.
Several things
- Jim goes to Peru. Sans Sarah.
- A week up north, maybe Charlevoix, maybe UP, on the water somewhere, time to fish, boat, be a family. I think this is the kind of thing he does with mom, dad, brother, sister, etc. Maybe off on location, but not concept.
- Somewhere out west. California, Wyoming, Montana. Just the immediate family.
Interesting you predict Israel. A few of the players were in Israel for about 3 weeks this summer.
