I'm not sure how this can raise his stock....his stock is already sky high. He has multiple D1 offers from powerhouse programs. I do believe this is the first Michigan kid to play football at IMG. Hopefully he gets some benefit from the $70,000 price tag.

The thing is, he doesn't need any more and he just got his dream offer from Oregon. Maybe it's to train better, but it's still a little weird. I was talking to his coaches last week when I saw on here someone mention he was going to IMG and they said they hadn't heard anything about it, so this seems odd to me. He likely got a full ride similar to how Dylan Moses did as well.

Unless they have changed a lot in the last 12-13 years (and admittedly they may have) IMG is for development as much as it is exposure.

Their weight room, strength coaches, athletic training facilities, etc are all beyond what any high school in MI has that I know of.

In addition to that he will spend a lot more time playing football and learning football in their schedule than he will at OLSM. Plus he will learn a lot from playing with much better players top to bottom.

The choice to me seems pretty straightforward if he wants to get better.

Harbs and company need to really give this kid a second look and not let him walk out the door without a fight. I wouldn't conceed to Brady Hoke, Oregon or anybody with the way this kids been showing out at camps.

He's the second best receiver in the State behind DPJ and we know the DPJ's of this world dont come around that often. Real-talk, this kids impressive on and off the field. A quality kid that Michigan should be all over.

Show the boy some luv Harb.

Last year there was a big time QB recruit from Minnesota who moved to Texas to play his senior season against better competition.  At the beginning of the season this kid was a four-star recruit and Oregon commit.   At the end of the season he was a three-star recruit and Minnesota commit after Oregon pulled his scholarship.    He never won the starting job for his team in Texas and put up average numbers his senior season - all this after being BMOC in the state of Minnesota.

My point is, I hope this doesn’t happen to Hamler.

wanting to work on his game and challenge himself to get better. Playing against the best makes players better.

I wonder what the depth chart and playing time looks like at IMG. Not get playing time can set an athlete back.

As far as college goes if playing time in college is the goal maybe it's better to find out before you commit where your best fit is.

It will be interesting to watch it play out. I'm rooting for him....unless he goes to OSZ/MSU

It's quite a transition to go from playing football in Michigan to football in Florida.  It is oppressively hot down here and will be for just about the entire season.  Kids that are from Florida don't know any different so it is not an issue for them.  If he wanted to play in the SEC this would really help him get used to the heat/humidity.

He isn't happy with the offense OLSM's runs. He isn't excited about the QB that is there, and he is only paying half, because he is an out state player, and they are eligible for some scholarship money. He want's to play against the best, and train against and with the best, and he wants to get away from home (out od state) and see if that's what he really wants when he picks a college. He likes Oregon, but don't count State out.

I had a nice back in forth just a week ago with Magnus on KJ.  Not only was he the best WR at the opening cbus (over DPJ), he also was not pursued very hard by Michigan at any point in his recruitment.  In fact, Wheatley didn't know who he was when he first visited OLSM to go hard after Biggs jr.  OLSM has pumped major talent to d1 schools the past 5 years and plenty of NFL players.  They have probably the best coaching staff in state of Michigan: George Porritt, Jermaine Gonzales, and Jeff Phillips-and get these kids college ready so they can have an impact immediately on the college level. (i.e. Dion Sims, the kid that blocked the punt last year, Allen Robinson, Biggs and Matt Linehan).

KJ has always said Oregon is his favorite school, however some of his best friends are going to MI and MSU.  IMG has told him he can be the next Desean Jackson and they just might be right.  Lastly, anyone who has ever known anyone who goes to OLSM or been a student themselves will tell you that it's a very competitive and difficult scholastically.  For him to transfer to IMG to focus on football is not surprising at all.  One more thing: KJ mentor is Funchess and he remains very close with him, makes all the sense in the world to me to go ALL-IN on KJ to eventually be Perry replacement.

It wasn't much of a back-and-forth - I think you just made one comment.

Anyway, you tried to blame Brady Hoke for not recruiting Allen Robinson and Dion Sims, which I pointed out as troublesome since Sims came out of high school during the Rodriguez era and Robinson signed in 2011, about a month after Hoke was hired. Also, slot receivers tend to dominate one-on-ones because there's so much open space, but opportunities for those guys to succeed diminish as they get older.

Anyway, I put Hamler high on my list of in-state prospects that I would like to end up at Michigan. I just don't think Michigan's offense suits his skills extremely well. They're going to use 2-3 tight ends regularly, a fullback or two, etc., and he's going to be standing on the sideline. Perry was our starting slot last year, and he got 14 catches. If I were Hamler, I'd want to go to a program that shows a history of highlighting my particular set of skills.

football academies seems to be on the rise.  What organization does or will start monitoring the recruiting "no nos" for high school.  No autographs please.
