Atlanta Satellite Camp Round Up
I've been watching updates on twitter throughout the day. Any hint of football in June is awesome to me.
Some details so far:
-Kirby Smart showed up late. Harbaugh was 15 minutes early and took control from the beginning. Smart was reportedly on his phone the majority of the time, while Harbaugh coached. Smart left an hour before the camp ended to get to Athens for a Georgia camp. Pretty sure he was mostly there to observe. Left via helicopter. Can you imagine the outrage and FOIA requests if Harbaugh flew from Ann Arbor to Detroit by a private chopper?
-Harbaugh wore a Hank Aaron jersey. Could be a trend, considering he wore a Colts jersey yesterday. He met Aaron earlier in the day, and Hank showed up to the camp later and addressed the campers. Short video embeded below. We have a new Michigan fan.
-Narduzzi was at the camp. He's either spying for D'Antoni or he's smart enough to learn from one of the greats. Either way, the disrespect is strong.
-Came across a few short periscopes if anyone is interested to see a peak of what goes on during these camps. (Warning-vertical filming, try not to gouge your eyes out)

Anyone else have any info? I'm sure we will get more details as more articles get written.
TL;DR = Our coach is better than yours.
For a camp held in the heart of Georgia with the Georgia head coach as one of the headliners . . . I did not see much Georgia stuff.
It was all Michigan stuff.
No wonder they're all just a little bit nervous.
Michigan is the real deal. Frozen north and all.
A couple inches of snow can not hold back the irrepressible ball of solar fury that is Jim Harbaugh.

Is that the penis symbol or the M?
I'm greatly enjoying Harbaugh's decision to ditch the Michigan shirt for the jersey of a local sports celebrity. Luck in Indy, Aaron in Atlanta, wonder who it will be in Florida.

I'm secretly hoping for Steve Spurrier's Jersey and have him as a guest as well.
Who doesn't love Hatin Ass Steve Spurrier?
Isn't there someone that wanted to hire Jimmy if he didn't go to UofM? /s
My bet would be a Dolphins jersey
Dan Marino
Denard
Thus, I think it will be a Dolphins player. My prediction?
Jim Mandich - captain of Bo's first team, and a legend down in Miami.
There's more than one in Florida.

Hammerin' Hank is well acquainted with the Block M.
I was at opening day for Hammerin Hank's return to Milwaukee County Stadium. When I first moved to Ann Arbor, in the early 90's, I actually wondered what was up with all the Brewers throwback hats.
Not a good look for Smart, from what I've been reading. Could be the michigan-leaning reporters are biased, but he comes off seeming like the teenage girl who got dragged along to her sibling's birthday party but desperately wants to be somewhere else.
Eh. Let the kids decide what to think about it. I think it's great that Harbaugh invites other coaches, even rivals, and that they come. Better for the kids, better for the mentality ("we're rivals, not enemies"), and doesn't hurt Michigan. Good for Smart for showing up. If he wasn't plugged in, well, perhaps there was stuff going on. He didn't have to come at all.
Harbaugh is a coach's son through and through - he's not b.s.'ing when he talks about collegiality. I hope that doesn't get lost in all the talk about these camps - he loves being there.
Been doing this 25 years -- have never seen a coach play to the crowd as well as #Michigan's Jim Harbaugh pic.twitter.com/0pA95CPU0B

Kid's got blue hair, sitting next to Jim Harbaugh... And attention firmly fixed on his phone...

Give them a break, they were probably watching the game.
Oh, wait . . .
and all those answers! From his mom, from the girl he has a crush on...
Kid with blue hair is Netori Johnson, #7 OG in the nation and a Georgia commit.
FWIW all 3 Georgia commits in attendance are now planning officials to Michigan this fall (per Allen Trieu in today's detnews.
Nah. He is so leaving for the NFL any day now.
Thank you for posting this...
Love the photo with Hank...a true legend.
Shameful on Kirby "happy as hell to be here" Smart's part...was a dumb idea to try to crowd Harbaugh in the first place..only to shirk his responsibility to the student-athletes. I'm sure some took note of the massive contrast between the two.
Harbaugh really brings it to these things. It's hard to imagine that Kirby Smart, who seemed to be just passin' through, arranged for Aaron to be there. Gotta put Hank's appearance in the Harbaugh column.
It's just great for those kids to have a memory of one of the best football coaches in history, together with one of the best baseball players in history.
Hank Aaron was a speaker at a conference I was at a few years ago.
He is a great story teller. We tend to think of him as this reverent historical figure frozen in time because of the record, but the man was an old-school ballplayer.
He tells hilarious stories about ballplayers just being ballplayers. Doesn't matter whether it's AA ball or the World Series.
He's a kindred spirit to Harbaugh. Authentic recognize authentic.
I would love to hear Hank Aaron speak. He's the picture of class, and my favorite historical non-Tiger ballplayer. Awesome to see Harbaugh involved with him. And with Mays, as posted just below this response.
He's a cool, down to earth guy. He's not stiff and formal at all.
ashamed to disclose my age by saying I saw Aaron play when he was in his prime. Not only a great player, but a wonderful human being and humanitarian.

Of course Harbaugh was the only coach wearing an Aaron jersey.
I read somewhere today that his granddaughter attends Michigan although I'd be surprised if that wasn't more widely known if true. Harbaugh has connected with Aaron in the past and is a huge baseball fan. He was definitely there because of Harbaugh.
When I saw a picture of the helicopter and the one of Harbaugh with Aaron, the first thing that came to mind was Smart brought his helicopter and Harbaugh brought Hank Aaron. Total win for Harbaugh.
It just comes so damn natural to Jim Harbaugh it's just not fair.
I'd be nervous too, even if I was Nick Saban.
attended Michgan, might still be here.
Nice write up from an Auburn 247 guy on the Michigan board. A bit caged in his responses but seems to have gained respect for Harbaugh. Pretty sure it's not paywalled:

Afterward, Jim spoke to the media for 10 media. Every TV station in the area was there.
Harbaugh is a news event.
There are two schools on the mind of every college football fan: the local school . . . and Michigan. Because of Jim Harbaugh.
Every recruit sees this.
