OT: Curling Open Thread
That's right, an open thread for curling, on NBC right now. Yeah, I don't have a job, what say you?
I love curling. Very strategic game, pretty interesting to watch. Also, women's curling has some pretty good looking chicks.

Curling is like football, except you have to be in good shape to slide that gigantic rock. And it takes more thinking. So I guess curling is nothing like football, just better in every way.

You kind of lost me on the shuffleboard comment which is played out. That said, curling is the only sport in the world where the rules require you to buy your opponent a drink after the game and where your opponent must reciprocate. That's an evolved sport.

I was taught the only way to play curling was to hold the rock in one hand and a tankard of beer in the other.

Two really bad ends cost them the match. In one of those ends, they had two shots in a row that missed Japanese rocks and flew right out the back without doing anything. Makes losing to a measurement on the last rock that much more disappointing.

Yep. The loss to Japan was bad. Especially considering how in control they were early. Brutal.

I have nothing to add to this thread except I have always thought curling was awesome, and I have no idea why.

I'm loving Curling. I saw the bit on Real Sports and now it is much more interesting to watch. Not looking good for the US Women against Germany right now.

we postponed the start of the curling suicide pool until today's matches. I would have lost right away on the US v Japan.

One of the rinks I used to play at used to stack their curling stones right near the bathroom, and during one game I simply had to pee between periods, and stormed out of the locker room with careless haste.
Long story short, my ShockDoctor cup has never protected the boys more than the day I tripped over and fell into the curling stones.
PS. I don't recall seeing any hot chicks in the vicinity.

of female curlers have come a long way in since i was young and used to watch a lot more than i do now... but anyways all female curlers used to be a lot more "butchy"... now its just a couple here and there...
