Driver thought he had run over a starting block in the track building when, in fact, it was Drake Johnson

Shit.. I worked at a paper mill where I've seen people cut off a brand new $30,000 felt because they thought it was the one they were changing. Only to find out that the crew that just left spent the last 4 hours putting it on.

my friends is a man who used every last drop in his adrenaline tank when he flew off that forklift. What kind of speed do you have!! I had an ATV tip over backwards on me pulling a dock out of the water. Three foot ledge and drop to the shore. Waves ate the bank out. I landed on the shor,e on my back, with a hard thud as the fourwheeler came with me. My feet came together right on the seat and gas tank. I kicked it off to the side like it was nothing. This was a 700 lb. Honda Ranger I think. Would've most certainly broke dozens of bones and quite possibly would've ended the reign. Now if you guys had recruited me that's the kind power I would'v been using on guys like Troy Smith in my prime. Dudes I was your Crablex2!!

Though I'm tired of the local media trying to find any way to cast a negative light on the football program (I'm sure they were wishing for a damaging toxicology report), I enjoy any opportunity to read that quote.

It doesn't look like there's any info on the report we didn't already know. I wonder what they were hoping to uncover?

I usually love Angelique's work, but there's really no point to this story whatsoever, other than to feed clicks.  The open records demand revealed:

  • That Johnson is made of Blue Twisted Steel
  • The forklift driver ran Johnson over accidentally
  • The staff examined him and took him to the hospital

When you add those together, you get zero new information.  The headline could have just as well have been Detroit News Open Records Act Request Confirms Reports from Michigan's Athletic Department.

100 days to the start of the CFB season!

We also learned that there was a co-worker involved who apparently failed to warn Drake Johnson and Matt Johnson about each other.  Furthermore, since the large cabinet was at eye level, it might have been more prudent to travel in reverse so the driver would have had an unobstructed view.  That and the back up alarm would surely have warned Johnson about Johnson.

I still don't understand how a forklift could've actually run him over and not broken anything. Forklifts are heavy, right? How was this only a 2-3 week injury?
