Who is the Best Athlete you've ever played against?
I don't remember how many yards he had against us his Sophmore
year when we beat them 8-6 on the road,
but his Junior Year he had only 67 yards on 11 carries.
It was 1989 and Saline just beat Dearborn Heights Robichaud for the
2nd year in a row for our first game of the season.
I remember watching the scout film on him with his incredibly long stride
and ridiculous speed. How the hell we beat them 24-0 at home
will always be a prideful memory.
He was none other than my future favorite
Michigan Running Back - Tyrone Wheatley.
My youngest brother played football with Henson
He was a Running Back at Fremont Ross. I was a Defensive Tackle at Sylvania Northview. Mr. Woodson destroyed us for a school record # of rushing yards.
NSCSB.
I coached at NV..............long before you played.
Your friendly neighborhood MGoPhotog lives in the Northview district.
I was a junior, he was a freshman. We had heard that Brighton had a phenom freshman. During the game, some huge kid on Brighton hit a homerun and 2 doubles off the wall. Towards the end of the game, I was like "so which is the freshman?' My coach was like "duh, the kid that is 3-3". The shortstop. The biggest kid on the team. Drew Henson.
I didn't play in the game, but my school played Albert White. He was crazy athletic.
jounior? Is that you sauce castillo?
Antoine Jounior?
I swear, I knew like 5 guys back in the day, between the time Henson was in SI as the "Golden Boy" and when he left Michigan, who claimed to have hit homers off of Henson when he was in high school. At some point I felt like it was becoming this sort of bizarre "yeah, me too!" SE Michigan urban legend that just kept growing.
Yeah, well I hit two homeruns off of him my first at-bat and my next one I intercepted his pass and returned it for a touchdown. Top that!
Yes, I'm old. He used to come to our Tennis and Atheltic Club and play pick up basketball. I'm all of 5'-9" (with the afro), as were most of us, and he generally stay outside of the three point line. On a fast break, he called me by name (wow!!) and passed me the ball. Very nice guy - just there to stretch his legs a bit.
I prevented a bar fight in Indianapolis between a buddy of mine who tried to move some coats and Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant who owned those coats.
That's all I got.
Mateen Cleaves. He scored a couple on me.
Rojo, that california loving basterd

Tom Staton (former M Basketball Captain) showed up at CCRB for some pickup hoops. He was on my team and we were killing it for an hour straight (it was all him). I stole the ball and had a breakaway. Rather than laying it in, I opted for a behind the back pass to Staton - he wasn't ready for it and it hit him square in the nose. After the bleeding stopped he left without a word. He as the last Varsity player I ever saw at CCRB.
I ran in track meets, but not in the same heats against Agim Shabaj, who ended up being a notorious Sparty burnout. He was probably the best athlete of note that I remember encountering. He would do stuff like dog it for the majority of the heat, then turn on the jets and blow by the pack while talking shit all the way across the line.
Our star sprinter that year ended up winning himself a couple DII national championships and making a small name for himself as a football player, besides setting every sprinting record on the board, and he was positively livid after running against that punk. Such a POS.
I didn't play in it, but our high school football team got positively torched on Homecoming by one of those Farmington Harrison teams with Drew Stanton at QB. Something like 72-21. It was ugly. And supposedly it was the most points they gave up all year.
Also played Jon Horford and Devin Oliver (played at Dayton, same team as Anderson in HS..Yeah we lost, by a lot)
Who is Doug Anderson?

I also played hockey against Knuble. Our claim to fame was losing to East Kentwood 5-0 in regionals. They were so pissed that they didn't mercy us, we took it as a victory. I also scored a goal against their JV earlier in the year (not all schools in our area were as good as East Kentwood, so we scheduled JV teams to fill out our schedules). I promply did the cabbage patch dance on the ice. That shows my age.

The funny thing is, Dickface, you didn't score again. For a shitty team like mine, that was a moral victory. Kentwood was mercying everyone..but us.
Had a 1-credit Team Sports class with him at CMU during his Junior year when he had put it all together. He showed up about 3 or 4 times over the course of the semester - all during basketball week I think. He dunked a lot.
Tony Smith. Played at Marquette and had several cups of coffee with the Lakers. Held him to 14 points while only committing 3 fouls. Then the first quarter buzzer sounded...

Steven Stamkos in a AAA tourney in Sarnia when he was on the Markham Waxers. Best I've ever played WITH is Danny Dekeyser.
Dan Majerle - HS Hoops
Same. Where did you play?
