Vegas opens with us as favorites at Sparty
Vegas just posted odds on the top CFB games of the year, plus the opening weekend. One of the games is in EL: We are -2 @ MSU.

B1G generally not getting love in these big games, although not a surprise. LSU favored at Lambeau over the Badgers; and OSU a dog to Oklahoma, but considering how the Buckeyes have to reload, you'd expect that.
I get the feelnig these early lines are for the public, and the heavy money won't come in until closer to the season? Like, what if some team's coach mocks his first-week (and vastly superior) opponent on Twitter.... not that that ever happens.
In before the disrespekt.
I see what you did there.
Michigan has a ton of guys coming back, having lost very few to graduations and the NFL Draft. On the other hand OSU has only 3 guys returning, only 3 starters!! That means 19 players have somewhere between little to Zero playing time. Mostly Zero !
BUT, all the professionals in Vegas, folks that do not have the influence of being a fan or homer, these pro's believe that OSU will beat UM by almost a touchdown. Now think about that....
What that says is that's they believe that Urban Meyer with a bunch of inexperienced freshman and sophomores is a far better bet to win than Jim Harbaugh with a bunch of experienced Jr's and Seniors. You can make all the excuses you want, But this is what it clearly shows.
URBAN MEYER on his worst day >>> Jim Harbaugh on his best day.
I guess that's what a 42-13 ass raping in your own house with your whole family watching will get you from the professional oddsmakers.
Fella don't you get tired of trolling every mention of OSU. You must have some great life to have nothing better to do than wait on a rivals blog for any mention of your team and then quickly try to slam your rival....unsuccessfully by the way. Oh well to each their own but enjoy the meatloaf you mom made you last night from the windowless basement of her house.
The new "IBD." I like it.

Am I missing something? seems like easy money. I thought we'd be favored by more.
No way the line stays at -2.
I think it is going to depend a little bit on what happens in, like, the first 7 games of the season.
That's crazy talk. first 7 games. jeesh. LOL.
Hey, easy money for them. They could have started that January 1 and had bets. January 1st. Good times. Good times.
Over OSU, but OSU is a 6.5 pt. favorite over Michigan. Another words, Michigan sucks so bad tha Vegas believes a entire team of freshman will beat UM's ass by a TD.
Another words? Nice.
Btw, what's with your "ass" fixation?
Last summer in July I was in downtown Vegas and saw Michigan as +13.5 dogs vs OSU in early betting like this. So I laid a crap ton and thought I was so smart leading up to that game as the season went on. Boy was I wrong .
I never bet the OSU game straight up. I always put it in a teaser.
it was an incredibly smart move. On the day of the game, you had a home team favored by 13.5 against their biggest rival in the biggest game of the season. I still believe that if OSU beat Sparty, we would have beaten them. They were the most talented team I've ever seen maybe outside of 2005 with USC-Texas.
UM hasn't beat anybody worth a shit in 4-5 years. Not sure why anyone would think folks in Vegas would believe in anything other than the facts, and the facts are that UM is about the same as Indiana. You may not like it, but that's what the facts show.
Truthbtold is a troll right?

he is banned on the full site, but those people can still post on the app.
I don't understand his specific type of weirdo trolling, but I do admire his total committment to it.
It's the spelling and grammar that cracks me up. I love this choice of words used in this thread: Instead of saying "In other words" he said "another words"
My man...we're going to steam roll MSU in October and it will be glorious.

I think we will probably win too, but I really don't see anyway in which we blow them out. If anything, I think we could shut them out (or at least 7 points or less), but I highly doubt our offense will be able to put up a ton of points on them, especially in a road environment.
In terms of the two teams, I anticipate both MSU's defense and Michigan's offense staying relatively steady this year, maybe slight improvements from both (our run offense should be a little bit better, their pass defense should be a little bit better). This means MSU's defense, while not at their elite level of 2012-2013, will still be very solid and I do not think Michigan's offense will be elite. We only scored 23 on them last year, and that was at home, so I really don't think our offense will get more than 27/28 points.
The reason we should beat them will be on the other side of the field, as our defense stands to get even better while their offense should take a big hit. Some defensive or special teams points could also be crucial.
favored last year also...... :(
It took a miracle for MSU to beat UM last year. Everyone who knows football is aware of that.

Fuck Sparty. The end.

Sun comes up.
Fuck sparty.
Sun goes down.
I take that as Vegas seeing us a touchdown favorite on a neutral field. Take three points away for home field, one for a rivalry game being closer, and one for the chip on the shoulder of all the sparties out there looking to buy couches just in case they win, or lose, or tie, or the game gets cancelled.
RCMB people must be losing their minds.
I would probably like to be the underdog so that I don't need to hear mike d'antoni blabber on about disrespekt AND it would be that much more fun when we punch them in the face.
I assume they are too busy talking about why all homeless people smell like urine and letting everyone know when they get laid. It is unfortunate that I know both of those topics were discussed at length at RCMB
spartys to the left of me. spartys to the right of me. spartys all around.
will escape back north later. so far, no couch burnings that i've seen.
Look harder XM, as for them it is like the Olympic flame, as it is always burning.
I can see them running a relay around east lansing with a smoldering cushion, then into the stadium where the sacred sofa is set aflame to the wildly cheering masses (of the 1/2 filled stadium).
each holding up a Bic lighter. When they happen upon an unguarded couch, up in flames it goes.
It's considered to be like guard duty for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, only with a heap of disrespekt.
it is a pretty sad, run down city. some nicer farm land not too far away would be cool, but there were bums around the park, urban squalor (spell check), etc. i was with a good group so that was fun, but no thanks to EL.
XTra, I'm incarcerated in EL today too. Haven't been here in probably 30 years.
It's even more sad and dilapidated than I remember it, though when I came up here for parties and such back then I was paying attention to something other than the condition of the neighborhoods, so maybe it hasn't changed that much. I will concede that for the most part they have a pretty campus (the eyesore-of-a-stadium being a jarring exception) but surprisingly large parts of the commercial district around campus look like Dresden, 1945.
I'm the guy wearing Michigan stuff, BTW, so if you see me I'll buy you that beer.
was at the lugnuts game last night with a big group, and i was wearing a michigan sweat shirt. one of the kids that works in the stadium came up and pointed to it and said (pretty good naturedly), 'hey, you've got a mess on the front of that shirt'. i told him i was sorry about his SAT scores. he had no come back for that one.
but most definitely, a beer with you and all manner of other mgobloggers if/when we are in the same space.
that a 'Party Service' might have been a better Vegas option for Sparty...
SO MUCH DISRESPEKT!!!

Michigan is a +6.5 underdog at OSU? Seems like a lot of points.
Did you see the game last year?
Sent from MGoBlog HD for iPhone & iPad
But for being this early in the season they lost 3 times as much as we did. If the game was played now we would probably win.

They've beat us in 13 of the last 14 meetings. Unless Luke Fickell is the head coach again, there's no "probably" beating OSU
And even with Luke Fickell coaching, it took an overthrown TD pass to actually beat them
Makes the 2012 and 2013 losses, which were both totally within our grasp, very disheartening.
Except the game isn't being played today. It's being played seven months from now, when their crop of inexperienced 4-5 star talent will all be primed and ready to go.
It's being played in Columbus, where we haven't won in over 15 years. It's no surprise at all that we're underdogs. We probably deserve to be an underdog any time we play them until we actually find a way to beat them.

OSU is losing a lot of talent, and +6.5 is a lot of points for a rivalry game. Especially when Michigan is expected to be a preseason top 10 team.
on Sundays this year
Because we're going to curb-stomp those sister fuckers this year.
